Can only see him going to Chelsea. I thought 28m was high when we bought him so hopefully we hold out for a big big fee and fleece the rent boys.

Couple of players there I'd have in exchange too but very rarely happens

Anything could happen with him. If he suddenly announced that he was staying to help Everton get to the Champions League I wouldn't raise an eyebrow but again if he was of to the highest bidder again it wouldn't be a surprise. The important thing for Everton is that we know what is happening and can make contingency plans. Same goes for Ross Barkley.

Do they have any young fringe players, like Lukaku himself was once, who we could take? Any Chelsea experts here?

Really think the club need to take a hard line with lukaku like they have with ross.

After the last game club shold come out and say its 90mil today rising by 2mil per day an offer isnt made. Flush the bid out early so we can move on or chelski say they dont want him.

It's strange how we see things differently for I am far from sure that the the statement from RK was hard line I think it was naieve and smacked of a strategy that hasn't been fully thought out. I just think like the Stones statement it's all for effect and in the end the player will get what he wants whatever that may be.

RB hasn't signed a new contract and RK has said that if he doesn't sign by next weekend he will be sold. I truthfully doubt that he will be a prime target of the likes of Man U, City, Chelsea, them across the park or indeed Arsenal so Spurs come in with a £10 million bid only to be gazumped by West Ham for £20 million but RB says no I want to go to Spurs. Could be a bit awkward as it's been said he will be sold and he can't be forced to go anywhere he doesn't want to goto. I just can't see a bidding war breaking out so what then happens?

Turning to Lukaku. I really can't see he will be a realistic target of that many clubs. Ok quite a lot of clubs wolud want him but they can't offer what he craves and again he can't be made to go anywhere he doesn't want to go .
Again let's suppose Chelsea bid £50 million but are guzumped by one of the Chinese clubs but he says no thanks. I really can't see any of the other top 5 clubs breaking the bank for what I suspect they would see as probably not one of their first choice transfer targets.

If RL is sold it isn't going to be for anywhere near the sums some are talking about. He is a decent player but not top top draw and despite vast sums exchanging hands a fee of around £50-£60 million is the current ceiling and yes I know all about Pogba but he was the sweetener offered to JM when they were chasing him and I just happen to believe that Juvenile were looking to make a certain amount but because of that crazy clause with the agen Man U were forced to pay way way over the odds.

Which ever way you look at it the club need to know either way with barkley and lukaku so they know what moves to make in the transfer window. We cant have a saga thay lukaku might be going all summer. We have to give chelski a take it or leave it price and lukaku will have to respect it.

I suspect that Chelsea already will know what Everton will want and whatever that figure is Chelsea or indeed any club won't be looking to pay it. As for Lukaku respecting it then that's a whole different ball game.

If I were Lukakus agent I would be saying already his player is leaving irrespective so we can talk nicely or we will pay the Article 17 compensation , which will be way under what you want for him or indeed any club will offer. I would then go on to state we will be able to cover that sum and then some from a nice signing on fee from whoever. I personally doubt that he would leave under an article 17 but would you if you were an Everton board member want to risk that?

You can see how much the media affects people's thinking.

8 out of 15 posts on the first page are in some way concerning a swap deal.

There's been 1 swap deal in the last decade of anywhere approaching this sort of profile, but the papers parrot them every day, so people reckon they're even a vague possibility.

I really think he stays. Ownership is focused on making a culture change toward this club becoming one of the elites. Nothing Moshiri would love more than to supplant the Gooners as a perennial top-4 team (although personally I'd like to see some hardware). We have Rom under contract. Trading the golden boot (likely/possibly) is a serious step in the wrong direction. Although many of us Blues are irritated by his lack of devotion to this club, you can't expect international players of his caliber to grow a devotion to a team in a matter of a couple years. He's been raised and treated like a wunderkind since he was a young teenager and has/should have the drive to become one of the best footballers of all time. His father is a former pro who still holds influence on his decisions. Therefor his focus is on himself and not necessarily the club. As he matures he will learn how to become more of a leader and how his actions on and off the pitch can have subtle effects on his performance and image/value.

In a way he reminds me of Larry Fitzgerald here in the States. Larry's father used to have a large influence on Larry's career and many times that would manifest into selfish comments to the media, (trade rumors to title contenders, going back to his boyhood team in Minnesota, etc) And this was back when social media wasn't as prevalent. Larry matured quickly and soon became his own man and a lifetime Arizona Cardinal in which no one can doubt his devotion to the club. He has become a true pillar of the community and a role model for anyone to look up to. I don't know if Rom will ever get to that level of devotion and maturity, but I feel he is progressing in that direction. He wanted European football and technically we are going to Europe. I hope he understands how he can and will be a key component to the aforementioned culture shift this club is going to make in the next 2-3 years. Heck, even kids here in the States will have Rom posters in their rooms and build themselves as players on Everton in FIFA 2020!
