I tend to agree with this. I've only settled down to emotionally involve myself in a few matches so far. The jeopardy just isn't there yet. I mean, people were going on about Cameroon 3-3 Serbia and calling it a classic, but it'll be forgotten about in a week because it will, in all likelihood, have no significance beyond the day it was played and beyond the sides involved. I mean, do people remember Senegal 3-3 Uruguay from 2002? Thought not.

The real business begins now. Knockout - pretty much - all the way.

The right decision. Iran-USA is definitely the more attractive game for most neutrals.

They messed up earlier today though showing Holland and not the Senegal match. So, there's no consistency or logic in their picks. I suspect Magenta TV had more influence on game choice than was let on...

I would've thought it was pre-agreed before the tournament? Should all be on free to air tv though IMO. Putting the World Cup behind a paywall is a bit off

Yeah apparently it is. A PPV channel has the rights to some of the games for some reason. Hopefully only in the group stages

They sublet 16 matches to a streaming service run by Telekom. Hence, only 48 matches live on free TV.

The real drama is yet to come, though. One of the quarter-finals will also be only on streaming...
