Oh, I totally sympathise with your plight. I too find it impossible. I find being Irish tends to preclude such deviance.

I think this team have a lot more likeable players than other English teams in recent times but still haven’t really got behind the national team since 98.

They are quite a dislikable set of players, and the rather vanilla manager isn't making things any easier. With such loathing of the league and other sides and so their players it's just very easy to so thoroughly detest those that have dived and spoiled and snided their way through games to the point now where there is unlikely a way back. Also the shambles when this lot under Southgate meets a properly good side is going to be off the scale humiliation.
