Everyone including Cena himself knows his character is only good for children. SCSA walked away in the early 00's because he heard that creative were about to put him on a losing streak, he took his ball and went home as they say. Imagine a SCSA walking down the ramp now knowing he lost his edge/got stale (storyline purpose). The Rock went to hollywood to make movies and keep himself fresh, when he returned many older demographic did too for a brief time. Cena knows if he 'turned heel' the viewing figures would shoot up and if his sales take a dangerous drop then they can turn him face again, one day cena will be told to retire via injury, they will panic and push someone before he is ready, so the result is one retires and the next star flops because its all too sudden. In relation to Lesnar i hope angle returns in september and they have another great rivalry (their mania match was great)

There's your problem though, Cena is a momentum killer (new gimmick?), anyone who's been built up ready for him to "overcome the odds" fades into mid card or has their push derailed.
Just of the top of my head in the last couple of years of non-main eventers; Nexus, Miz, Wyatt, Sandow, Ryback (think it was Cena who beat him). Most take a long time to get any credibility back, and it doesn't help that Cena's promo's in these feuds barely put people over, and often mock, laugh and make jokes of the opponent.

Apparently Angle recently spoke to HHH about coming back but HHH basically wasn't interested. Angle then went to Vince which pissed HHH off so made it even less likely Angle will return.

that's a shame....wouldn't like to see angle return full time because of his health issues, but a short part time return would be class....Rumble to WrestleMania...
