GOT Wrestle Fest Fan Thread

I don't get the Lesnar situation at all really! He comes down to the ring, pulls afew stupid faces, flaps his arms around, let's hetman talk for him then leaves. It's been the same thing since he came back. He came back and they had John cena beat him? It's like seriously wtf!!!! What's that interesting about it really? I gave up on the WWE a very long time ago! Still watch it and read the news but as a product it sucks. How long the crowd been booing cena for now? 6 or 7 years? Not once have they tweaked his character. I know he makes them huge money etc but at least change his stale style up. The rock, scsa, hogan all bigger names and brought in as much money as cena, all changed with the times and most importantly changed their character. Yet wwe push his boring character in main events week in, month out, year in. Wwe missed the boat with a cm punk vs Daniel Bryan for a huge title run and have huge match at mania. The crowd would be insane for that match! They need to get new bookers in who know what they're doing, defiantly need new creative team. They need to let heyman get creative and watch the show pick up. No wonder wwe's stories improvs when they can rob ideas from heyman. Just like the attitude era idea was stole from ecw, when it the creative side got better from 2002-2005 when heyman was doing creative meetings after that botched up of the invasion storyline.

Anyone see the 'almost live' TNA Impact last night on Challenge, from Glasgow, Scotland?

MVP debuted as the mystery TNA investor:

Wait, TNA has a hall of fame?

Yeah, had one since 2012. Sting was inducted in October 2012, and Angle's 2013 induction was delayed until later this month (being taped at Wembley Arena tomorrow night and airing on February 27th), mainly because he'd only just got out of rehab and it wasn't appropriate.

I suppose any promotion can have a Hall of Fame, TNA have been going for nearly 12 years now.

Cool enjoy mate.

I know i bitch about TNA but i'm sure live and being there it's alright

Was alright

MVP was there. He's the new storyline boss and is feuding with Dixie Carter

Stand out performers for me were Samoa Joe, Spud and Eric Young

Show went on for ages though. They taped two Impacts back to back. Show started at 7:30 and didn't end until 11:00

Crowd was in to pretty much all of it though

They decided against an intermission, so I ended up missing a women's match because I needed to go to the loo

Show was fine but it really came across as a company on it's last legs

You didn't miss much with the ladies match, loads of people took a break then. The crowd seemed jaded for that one and was the worst match of the night. Surprised how small a reaction Gail Kim got, a lot of people were shouting 'Tina Turner' to Lei'D Tapa.

It's been a while since I was able to attend a live show, so I really enjoyed it, thought all the matches were pretty good, but not sure if they will come across that way on TV. TNA wrestlers must love it over her, the reception they get, Samoa Joe got a "Stone Cold" like response. MVP came across as a star on the mic, and people were really into Gunner, who I've never much rated.

Bully Ray came to the ring in a RS shirt with Gerrard on the back and it was quickly stripped off him and stomped on, plus more that I won't spoil.

The final match was a match taped for Xplosion, which was odd, a lot of people left before the true main event which I assume was to catch trains etc.

Having watched the show from Glasgow the night before and these two tapings TNA seems to have a thin roster right now, maybe it was partly to save money flying talent over though. Loads of the merchandise was for wrestlers no longer with the company or not at the show.

When I booked the tickets months ago I honestly believed Sting and AJ Styles would still be around, I knew before the show they wouldn't but still disappointing, nice to see Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards live for the first time.

Tickets for next years shows go on sale this Friday, if TNA is still alive, hope so. Don't know if I will go because if Sting signs with WWE I want to see him wrestle live before he retires - was supposed to see him in Blackburn in 1993 but was ill and couldn't make the show!

The thing with TNA is, they are TOTALLY reliant on their Spike tv deal money (the channel they air on on in the U.S.). If that deal ended, they'd have no tv in the U.S. and at that point they would likely be done, as the Carter family aren't going to go any further into debt supporting the promotion.

The key thing is, the Spike tv deal is up for renewal in September. Jeff Jarrett has split with TNA and is looking to launch his own new promotion. The whisperings are, he's possibly looking to steal the Spike tv deal from TNA. Interesting times.

It would probably be the best thing for everyone if Jarrett does take over from TNA and they fold now.

Up to a couple of years ago (maybe slightly less, whenever Aces and 8's storyline started dragging) they were doing fine, but their attempts to grow the company failed (too much too quickly couple with worsening booking) and they've been heading down the crapper ever since.

They're damaged goods now so a new promotion could easily take their place. Just hope Jarrett doesn't screw it up. Pretty much no chance of competing with WWE without a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge change but every chance of getting on a similar level to TNA a few years ago if they keep their heads screwed on and produce a decent product.

If Jarrett does get his own promotion going I hope he keeps well clear of Vince Russo, Eric Bischoff and Hulk Hogan. But if he wants to impress Spike TV officials Hogan is probably a name that they recognise and would impress them. Wrongly in my opinion.

I always thought Bischoff deserved another shot running a wrestling promotion, based on WCW 1994-1998. Boy was I wrong. He and the Hulkster came into TNA signed up big name former WWE talent on expensive contracts, but they never changed TV ratings that much. They also destroyed the X-Division and Knockouts division (which was pretty entertaining). They also stupidly ran against WWE TV briefly, and, put the wheels in motion to tape TNA events on the road, despite the cosy Universal Studios agreement.

Two wrestling related commercials just aired for Radio Shack during the Superbowl on the major U.S. tv networks, both featuring Hulk Hogan and Sgt Slaughter. Pretty funny stuff:
