GOT Wrestle Fest Fan Thread

Sky have just announced that they've signed up WWE for 5 more years, until the end of 2019. Apparently BTSport were bidding for the rights too. The figures haven't been released yet, but it's thought Sky have paid 3 times what they paid for WWE back in 2009.

The main changes are we are getting WWE Main Event added to the weekly shows, and now all 12 ppvs will be on Sky Box Office, as opposed to the previous arrangement of 8 ppvs & 4 tv specials. The days of ppvs being shown for free on Sky Sports are now over.

No idea how this would affect the WWE Network when it launches in the U.K. If WWE charge £10 a month for the network and it includes the lives ppvs like in the U.S., why would anyone pay £15 for each ppv on Sky Box Office? They'll have to sort that issue out.

This means we don't be getting The Network I think

We didn't get "Classics on Demand" either

Bugger

It really is disgusting that we have to pay for the ppv's. We have to pay just to watch the TV. I never got why Americans thought we had a good deal. You pay for WWE over here whether you watch it or not through your SKY Bill

He's no Tatanka, but he's pretty good I'll conceed

There are plenty of good technical wrestlers, but what makes a superstar is what heard Jim Ross say - you can teach a wrestler to wrestle, but you can't teach him to have charisma... Punk has more charisma in his little finger than Daniel Bryan has in his whole body. He tells a story in the ring - he's as good as the best of the old school in that respect.

Daniel Bryan is also an excellent story teller

His selling, when he times a comeback, his facial expressions, they are all excellent

Bryan and Punk are both great at all aspects of what it takes to be a succesful wrestler

We are getting the Network, just not till the end of this year and it has no bearing on the new Sky deal. Not all that bothered that everything has been moved to Box Office as I only get the Big 4 anyway and stream the others

Not sure about that. They've already gone on record as saying they'll launch the Network in the UK at the end of 2014/early 2015, and it actually talks about it in that article, saying that Sky aren't worried about it cannibalising the ppvs that they'll be offering each month.

There's no indication that the Network won't be getting launched over here. If Sky would have had a problem, that would have delayed things but they don't appear to be bothered by it.

So one of the most intresting things about the WWE has quit it's product? Not surprised by this one single bit. Recently watched his DVD, that the WWE brought out the other year. The stuff he's taking about on there is the same stuff that is happening in the WWE today, so no wonder he packed up and went home.

Read today that the WWE is having huge creative meetings this week. The whole product needs a massive shake up. They really need to start pushing more stars, instead of having the same old **** week in and week out. Promo to open up the show followed by few poorly booked matches, middle segment, a promo, followed by few matches then a main event. the same thing week in and week out. It's boring and stale!!!!

They've got guys like fandango, Rhodes, sandow and ziggler who start to get abit of buzz then they bury them. Talent like them should be getting pushed in really big ways.

I've never seen a crowd reation like the one at the royal rumble an it was bloody brilliant. Daniel Bryan is over on a SCSA and The Rock type level and maybe Triple H can't stomach that.

Is Stephanie still head of creative? Maybe she needs to hit up Heyman for some creative ideas or ask her ald man on how to steal Heymans ideas and turn them into their own.

It's never been the same since Gangrel left.

Good post.

The Brock push represents everything that's wrong with the current regime. The guy's probably wrestled less than a total of 2 minutes since his last PPV before the Rumble, which I think was Summerslam last year. The rest of his time has been just posturing about, smashing chairs and trying to look 'ard. Guys like Punk have been doing it week in week out for the last for years, and are overlooked because of this twunt.
