Even better than Mick Foley's twitter posts are his Facebook posts - and check out his son's! Amazing stuff. True feelings are coming out now, as Foley's WWE contract has expired and because his stand up comedy career is doing well, he's not fussed about resigning with them anymore:

Bryan was never going to be in the Rumble, the finish to his match with Bray saw to that. There was no way, kayfabe, that he was going to recover from two Sister Abigails, one of which was into the barricade, in less than 2 hours.

Could have done without Batista winning, he could have still had a top draw match at Mania without the title being on the line. Badly wanted Reigns to win considering he broke Kane's 13 year record for most eliminations in one match.

One thing I am grateful for is that Cena won't be in the title picture come Mania, somehow given whats happened recently plus the Bella's tweet after the show, I can see it being Bryan and Cena teaming up against the Wyatts at Wrestlemania, with a third party (probably not Hogan)

Royal Rumble: Daniel Bryan blames WWE for exclusion

A WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) star has apologised to fans who were disappointed he did not appear in the Royal Rumble main event on Sunday.

Daniel Bryan blamed organisers for his exclusion from the match in the US.

"Sorry guys, the machine wanted me nowhere near the Royal Rumble match. But I thank everyone for their support," he wrote on Twitter.

Some fans at the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh appeared upset when they realised he would not appear.

Many people have also expressed anger on social media, with the phrases #RoyalRumble, #WWE and Daniel Bryan all trending on Twitter.

Bryan added on Twitter: "They try to keep US down and away from the top spots, but they can't ignore the reactions forever. Keep voicing your opinions."

Thirty big name wrestlers, including Batista, Roman Reigns and CM Punk, all took part in the event - one of the highlights of the WWE calendar.

Bryan did make an appearance at the event in Pennsylvania.

Earlier on he had taken on and lost to Bray Wyatt, in a one-on-one match to kick off the evening.

CM Punk was first in the ring for the Royal Rumble, followed by Seth Rollins. By the time the final competitor was announced, Rey Mysterio, fans were shouting for Bryan.

Many fans adopted the phrase #YESMovement, referring to an appeal to WWE bosses for wrestling outcomes audiences have demanded.

Retired professional wrestler Mick Foley later tweeted: "Does @WWE actually hate their own audience? I've never been so disgusted with a PPV."

He later added in a statement: "Like many of you out there, I just don't get it. This Daniel Bryan thing is a phenomenon.

"I wanted so badly to hear 75,000 WWE fans chanting 'yes' - and seeing fans walk away absolutely ecstatic about the outcome of a PPV. But when given the chance to make it happen (unless they've got something major up their sleeve) WWE's answer tonight was a resounding 'no, no, no'."

WWE Live has already announced a UK tour in May, with locations including Nottingham, Belfast and Glasgow all confirmed.

one thing i never knew was did they genuinely release the guy when the nexus started or was that just a fake thing to drum up reaction?

My god when they put the title on Daniel Bryan i guarantee you they turn him heel and he pisses away all of his momentum. Just you watch.

They genuinely released the guy. He got carried away during the big angle and (pretend) choked the ring announcer with his tie. There's lots of things they do in WWE, simulated-violence wise, but they don't allow choking anymore following the Chris Benoit double murder & homicide tragedy. Bryan paid the price, but was quickly brought back when the dust had settled.

WWE makes 100s of millions of dollars a year. It's also the 2nd most watched thing on the Sky Sports channels behind football and has been for the last 20 years. Most read story on the BBC News website would indicate it's of interest too.

and justin bieber has more fans than bob dylan, if any of you actually took a day off work today to watch what is basically eastenders for closet cases, you should all be made to live in the wild for a month
