GOT Wrestle Fest Fan Thread

Just the attitude in the business.

I think it was prominently after Guerrero died WWE started to take a more stringent approach to drug testing which has helped.

In the 80's and early 90s there was a cultue of taking drugs, both performance and recreational, these days although i'm sure it still happens its way less prevailent.

And the style has calmed down after some of the crazy attitude era stuff.

Ah fair enough. Browsing those pages brought back a lot of nostalgia. Hulk Hogan against ultimate warrior, hart foundation against the rockers, macho man getting hitched to miss elizabeth at summerslam, sgt slaughter being anti-american then seeing the light and posing in front of memorials.
Oh and the legend that is ric flair claiming to have had an affair with miss elizabeth before the pictures were exposed as fakes. WOOO.
On a sadder note I see Gorilla Monsoon died. R.I.P. Is Mean Gene still around anyone know?

I believe Mean Gene hosts some kind of archive show. When i record Raw from early hours of Monday mornings it sometimes catches the end of the show before which sometimes is NXT and others Mean Gene hosting older matches.

If you like the old guys you should wat ch TNA, their last Impact was dominated by Sting, Hogan and Flair.

Good old mean gene well that's cheered me up at least. By the way I just read that the Texas Tornado lost his foot in a motorcycle accident, before he joined the wwf! Interesting.

Talking of limbless wrestlers. Was it Zak Gowan or something who had one leg?
yeah it was, always remember the chair shot he give vince mcmahon and vince's head was pouring with blood-and it was a good and proper shot right on the corner of his head

One big story that indirectly involves Zach is the famous tale of John "Johnny Ace" Laurinaitis signing the wrong one-legged wrestler to a WWE contract. Ripe for parody, this story is something that JG had wanted to ask Gowen about since it happened. During this week's 31 minute uncut Club shoot, he did. Zach answered:

"I guess the story is that, from what I hear - please don't take this as Gospel because I've never heard from either of these two gentlemen - but, I guess Jim Ross heard about me and told Johnny Ace to sign the one legged wrestler. So Johnny Ace called Steve Keirn, who ran a school down in Florida and Steve Keirn said, "Yeah I've got a one legged wrestler here." So they signed that guy. Steve Chamberland…thinking he was me. I think they signed him when I was actually on TNA on a live pay-per-view. So he goes back to the office and Johnny Ace goes, "Yo. I signed the one legged guy." But I was actually on TV at the time. How he got the wrong one legged guy, I'm not sure because that guy's like 6'3, 275."

So here it is - not done one for ages but here goes:

This times wrestler is...obviously...

CHRIS 'Y2J AYATOLLAH OF ROCK AND ROLLA' JERICHO - real name: Christopher Keith Irvine

Chris Jericho, is a Canadian-American professional wrestler, musician, songwriter, radio personality, television host, actor, author, and dancer. He is best known for his time in the World Wrestling Federation/Entertainment (WWF/E), as well as in World Championship Wrestling (WCW) and Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW), and internationally in Canadian, Mexican and Japanese promotions.

Jericho has won 30 championships between WWF/WWE (where he won 24 titles), WCW, and ECW. He is credited as being the first-ever Undisputed Champion within the WWF, having unified the WWF Championship and the World Championship in 2001.

In WWF/E, Jericho was a one–time Undisputed WWF Champion, a three–time World Heavyweight Champion, a two–time WCW/World Champion, a record nine–time Intercontinental Champion, a one–time European Champion, a one–time Hardcore Champion, a five–time World Tag Team Champion and a two–time Tag Team Champion.[1] In WCW, he was a four–time Cruiserweight Champion and a one–time Television Champion. In ECW, he was a one–time Television Champion. If he wins the WWE United States Championship, that will make him the only person to hold every male WWE title that has been around for the past decade.

Jericho is overall recognized as a six-time world heavyweight champion in reference to his one WWF Championship, three World Heavyweight Championship and two WCW/World Championship reigns. He is the ninth Triple Crown Champion and the fourth Grand Slam Champion of WWE

Jericho is the lead singer for the heavy metal band Fozzy. Since their debut album in 1999, Fozzy has released four studio albums. All of them bloody awful in my opinion!!

Jericho would be in my top 5 wrestlers of all time. He is one of the first people who made me go 'woh, wrestlers are actually cool'.

He will be back we know he will be back and we know that once again RAW IS JERICHO

LEGEND

Time to bring this badboy back I reckon...

So Night of Champions was last night.

It gets 3 title belts out of 5 from me.

Don't really care about the tag, US, women's or Intercontinental so let's focus on the big matches.

Del Rio Vs. Cena
---------------------
Entertaining start with Cena stealing the keys to Del Rio's Ferrari but a limited match to say the least. Can't see any point I'm Cena winning. None at all. Seems stupid to me. He doesn't need the win. As long as he's champ by 'mania he doesn't need it before then....plus I like how arrogant Del Rio is!!

Orton Vs. Henry
-------------------
Surprisingly good. I like having a huge man as a champion, and more importantly the Heavyweight Champion.
Fair play to Orton. Like Cena he doesn't need the win. This was a good move.

Now the big one:
HHH Vs. CM Punk
--------------------
Now let's get this straight. HHH is now a part time wrestler. What is the point in him winning this?! They spend nigh on 3 months building up Punk and as soon as Vince's favourite HHH gets involved it's a win.
I can't see where this story is going. The John Laurenitis and Kevin Nash involvement is so stupid too and not needed.
Having said this, the actual match has been panned on the Internet as being a bit of a mess. I, on the other hand, quite enjoyed it.

Raw had better be good tonight. I'm losing some faith that they had restored by making Punk awesome.
