Talking of Jericho, this always cracks me up :

Jericho never spoke his mind out like Punk does. He took the entertaining route with a a bunch of quality jokes but Punk not only has the balls to say stuff but he looks like having a personality. Jericho did win championships but that was over a long long time and with long storylines. Punk on the other hand brings back the attitude era.
I'd love Punk and Austin talking on the mic, confronting each other. That would be one hell of a treat.
Was just browsing through this thread. I haven't watched it for years but I was obsessed with it back in the days of Macho Man and Ultimate Warrior. My favourite was always Bret "the hitman" Hart and I was in love with Miss Elizabeth. Perhaps a separate WWF glory years thread should be made. Thoughts?
You honestly believe Punk is saying that without the permission of the WWE? If Jericho was allowed to improvise he would do so much as Punk has.
Remember this Tuesday nights [Wednesday morning] smackdown is Live,i will be wrecked going to work 3 hours after it finishes lol as i will watch this live and we join in on anything about anything on this forum as people will know.
Only do it as Smackdown is rare to be broadcast Live [its live as there is a Labour day/weekend in usa starting friday next week and the rating are usually bad when smackdown is on tv on the friday there]As I'm moving house my Sky isn't going to be set up right away.
Not sure I'd ever stay up to watch Smackdown mind you.
On Tuesday August 30, Smackdown will be airing live instead of its usual airdate of Friday, September 2. The reasoning behind this is that SyFy is anticipating a poor rating for Labor Day weekend, so the show will air as it is being taped.
This is similar to WWE airing Smackdown live on the USA Network on a weekend when the usual SyFy rating was expected to be down because of the holidays.
,more breaks in the 1st hour of that than action, good luck on the move mate. Not really much need mate - don't wanna clog up the Ale House with another wrestling thread as it has such a limited audience.
But talk old skool as much as you like. We'll join in.
Yeah that's fair enough that's why I just sounded it out instead of starting one.
I was just browsing old wrestlers after reading this thread yesterday I found a stat that said 25% of the wrestlers from wrestlemania VII are now dead. Don't know if that is accurate but the mortality rate is astounding.
Just off the top of my head: macho man, ravishing rick rude, earthquake, big boss man, owen hart, british bulldog. And of course miss elizabeth, who was cruelly taken from us before the days of celebrity sextapes.
Yeah %25 sounds about right, crazy the amount of guys from that era who have now died way younger than they should of done.
Its like Canadian Stampede from 1997. 4 of the 10 guys in the main event are now dead.
Luckily things seems of changed recently, there is a more safer approach taken which should cut down on the deaths.
Whats changed? As far as I understand it a lot of the problems stem from the sheer size of the wrestlers which puts strain on their hearts. Couple that with the governing body being infamous for covering drug use - wrestlers use painkillers for injury which in turn makes them lethargic and they use uppers to get high. Roddy Piper was fired after he spoke out in favour of the wrestlers.
Im not an expert but I was bored yesterday and did some reading!
