GOT Wrestle Fest Fan Thread

I think that's "kayfabe" (see, look at me with the terminology!) and his contract actually runs to September.

Either way, he's simply too valuable to let go. WWE wouldn't push him like this and gift him to another company. My guess is that he has extended his contract already, WWE have covered it up brilliantly, and he'll just take time off.

But I think the time off may be in a way we wouldn't expect. New Japan Pro Wrestling have had a decent link with WWE for beards, and Ring of Honor are respected by McMahon a lot more than TNA. There's a possibility here that Punk DOES walk away with the title and we get vignettes of him defending it every so often at ROH and NJPW for a month or so before he returns. Basically, he takes a break on a much lighter workload.

Yeah they could run with him winning the title and then defending it in various indies around the world for a bit. The problem then is how to play it on WWE tv.

How would the other wrestlers react? What would Vince do to get his title back.

My worst fear is that half way through the match Vince walks down to ringside, Cena puts punk in the sharpshooter...............................................you know the rest.

Well if I were a wrestler I'd understand. The WWE title would be held in awe in the indie promotions and breathe new life into it as the pinnacle of wrestling, whilst dismissing TNA from the project and giving airtime to their immediate rivals will push ROH up (especially with their new TV contract I'm reading about).

They could have John Cena "sacked", then following Punk around the indies interfering and chasing him down when he attempts to "defend" the title. Punk has enough, arranged a match back at the WWE.

There's so many ways they can ignite this storyline but I'm betting WWE blow it like The Nexus thing.

Just watching it now.

Punk cannot be allowed to leave. It can't happen. He's outstanding in a WWE with not many outstanding characters.

Cena? Hmmm

Holy **** CM Punk is brilliant! That was the BEST f'ing promo I've seen in years! And the one 2 weeks ago is the second best. And the show opener is the third best. CM Punk IS the biggest active star in todays wrestling. Just listen to the crowd. He gains more reactions than the returning The Rock, Cena and Orton combined! CM Punk could be the next MAJOR star, if he doesnt leave, and WWE dont **** up, which they usually do.

CM PUNK! CM PUNK! CM PUNK!

"I am the voice of the voiceless, and you will apologise, and you will like it!"

Pure genius. 90% unscripted too by the way.

Best I've seen since The Rock, who is brilliant in an entirely different way.

Anyone else seen The Rock's retort to Cena on YouTube?

It good. Very good. Puts Cena back in his place.

Aye saw that the other day. He makes a good point to be honest.

Actually, that Cena bloke is being made to look very poor by this CM Punk bloke and the Great One.

Can't be arsed to actually watch the video so what did the Rock actually say? Was it just a bunch of cathcphrases?

It was. But spoke a lot of truth too.

Stuff like how annoyed he is with Cena banging on about being there every night. So what? The WWE is Cena's employer, that's his job they pay him. The Rock has done this. He did it before, he did everything before Cena.

Its worth a watch mate.

Just watched it, good promo.

However both men are making good points.

Cena needs to ask Rock if its not about money just how much is he making for his one off match at Wrestlemania while him and the rest of the roster bust their asses every night.
