GOT Wrestle Fest Fan Thread

It was not planned the 2nd fall the cage was not as strong as they thought and mick foley has said this out his own mouth, the 1st was planned which is crazy to even attempt that, and i have not read any books, never get time to lol

See Terry Funk claims that both falls were planned, I know for a fact the first one was but I've heard conflicting stories about the second.

That cage wasn't strong enough anyway, both men nearly fell through it before the first fall.

The cage was supposed to bend then give way, so that the fall was in two "stages". It didn't go to plan.

The first fall was actually unplanned in that it was not staged by WWF management. Taker and Mick set it up amongst themselves IIRC.

Anyway, here's a clip for you all. Owen Hart takes on "Stone Cold" Steve Austin at Summerslam 1997. Owen executes a sit down piledriver, which genuinely breaks Austin's neck. As Austin was scripted to win the match, they had to get him to win somehow...

The piledriver was banned shortly after this incident.

CM Punk on Raw last night. Wow. Just Wow.

Was it a work or was it real? It's one of those rare times when it's hard to tell. For me it doesn't matter if it's real or fake. It was outstanding work. Best promo in ages.

CM PUNK PROMO FROM LAST NIGHT'S RAW

well he still has his title match at money in the bank as next weeks raw was recorded straight after last nights raw, vince and cena have promo etc between in some parts of next weeks Raw

Vince says that CM Punk is reinstated and Cena has his match at Money in the Bank with CM Punk. Vince tells Cena that if Punk walks out of Chicago with the title then John Cena is fired.

cena/vince promo thas ends next weeks raw took by some fan on mobile if he ever shuts up so you can hear them [not the best vid]

Absolutely brilliant. Best promo for beards. The rest of the show apart from the Tornado match was garbage like, but that rescued it.

Interesting none the less.

Agreed. Sin Cara Evan Bourne should have been epic, but felt rushed and a bit crap. I like Sin Cara but his flashy moves look too staged.
Steel Cage match was ok. Loved the ending, felt very mid 90s WWF which was ace.

In fact looking back in it I quite enjoyed last nights Raw!

Wow, great to se other Wrestlingfans in here! CM Punk is fu<kin awesome! Best promo I've ever seen! Punk could be the next MAJOR star if he signs a new contract, WWE gives him creative freedom AND they use him properly! **** Orton, **** Cena.. CM Punk owns ye all!!!

In an era where squash matches in WWF were commonplace, "jobber" (aka constant loser to make the bigger star look good) 1-2-3 Kid scores an unthinkable upset win over Razor Ramon.

It seems now Jay Lethal has gone from TNA,he wants to come to WWE like most, think its fair to say he will be remembered most for his impressions of Ric flair in this promo

Welcome to the latest in my look at legendary wrestlers. I thought long and hard about this one, but then heard some ace news about this guy and this edition was sealed.

This week featured legend is:

Kurt Angle - It's True, It's Damn True

Real Name: Kurt Steven Angle

Born December 9, 1968 is an American professional wrestler, amateur wrestler, actor and 1996 Olympic gold medalist. He is currently under contract with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, where he is a former four-time TNA World Heavyweight Champion, and recognized by the promotion as a 14-time World Champion. He is best known for me for his time in WWE.

Angle was involved in amateur wrestling during both high school and college. He won numerous accolades, including being a two-time National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I champion. After graduating, he won the 1995 World Championship tournament. Angle then competed in the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia, where he won a gold medal in heavyweight freestyle wrestling. Kurt Angle is also one of only four people in the world to complete the Grand Slam in amateur wrestling which is the junior nationals, the NCAAs, the World Championships and the Olympics. He is also one of only four americans to win the Krasnoyarsk. He was named the greatest shoot wrestler and one of the top 15 college wrestlers of all time by USA Wrestling.

Initially turning down an offer to join the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), Angle signed a multi-year contract with the company in 1998. His first big push in the company was in February 2000, when he held both the European Championship and the Intercontinental Championship at the same time. Not long after, Angle began pursuing the WWF Championship. He continued to be a part of main event matches until August 2006, when Angle was granted a release from his contract. Throughout his tenure in the company, he was a six-time world champion (four-time WWF/E Champion, World Heavyweight Champion and WCW Champion), he also held the United States Championship, Intercontinental Championship, European Championship, Hardcore Championship and WWE Tag Team Champion once each. In addition, he was the winner of the King of the Ring tournament in 2000, the tenth Triple Crown Champion, and the fifth Grand Slam Champion. In addition, he is one of two wrestlers (Edge being the other) to have held every currently active male championship in the WWE.

After leaving WWE, Angle joined Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA), where he became the second wrestler in TNA to win TNA's Triple Crown and the first man to hold all three TNA championships simultaneously. While in TNA, his real-life wife Karen began accompanying him to the ring and playing a part in his on-screen storylines. Angle has also made appearances for New Japan Pro Wrestling as well as Inoki Genome Federation, where he held their version of the IWGP Heavyweight Championship. In addition, he is a three-time TNA World Heavyweight Champion, the second Triple Crown winner in TNA history—being the only one to hold all the required titles at once (while also holding the IWGP Title, making him a quadruple champion for a brief time).

Now I hate TNA quite a lot, but he's done it there too.

Angle is the only wrestler in history to be a Triple Crown winner in both WWE and TNA. He is the first man to have held the WWE Championship, the World Heavyweight Championship, the WCW Championship, and the TNA World Heavyweight Championship in his career. Angle is also a two time King of the Mountain winner, winning at the 2007 and 2009 Slammiversary PPV event, making him the only wrestler to have been both King of the Ring (WWE) and King of the Mountain (TNA). Between WWE and TNA, Angle has won 17 total championships. In 2010 the Wrestling Observer Newsletter named Angle the Wrestler of the Decade of the 2000s.

Basically he is the greatest actual wrestler of all time. And rumours are still flying around that he will compete at the London Olympics next year. If he wins that, and he will win that, then he will go down as the greatest wrestler ever, amateur or pro, not just for me but for everyone.

Here's some highlights:
