GOT Wrestle Fest Fan Thread

So the main event is set already for wrestlemania 28 [april 1st 2012],its John cena v The rock, the match up between the 2 was already set up but this was suppose to happen at Summerslam, now we probably have the Rock soon to disappear for a long time then to come back a few months before Wrestlemania 28

Did you expect anything else? He's a sell-out after a Wrestlemania pay-day, which he got. Now it's bye WWE fans

I don't get the whole sell out thing. He served wwf/wwe well in his years. And now he has a new job as an actor. Why is that so bad?

He dumped the Wrestling business and fans as soon as a hint of Hollywood came along. The fact that he doesn't want to be known as 'The Rock' but rather Dwayne Johnson says it all.

Well i think that actually says he choose a far far better paying job which had a far far lesser chance of him suffering serious injury, and with a far far easier working schedule.

And his name is Dwayne Johnson so hardly surprising he'd wish to use his real name outside of wrestling.

He didn't sell out the wrestling biz, he left it, but in a far far better shape for his contributions than when he joined it.

This. So this.

Why do people still complain it isn't as good as the attitude era then?

I still like The Rock, or Dwayne, don't get me wrong, he gave me some of my best viewing 10 years ago, he was simply one of the greatest, but i have lost respect for him. He's payed lip service to the WWE for me. I dunno maybe it's just me, but i appreciate the work Cena has done a lot more. He has carried the company longer than SCSA or Rock did when being at the top, and yeh he does get booed, but as Cena said himself, at least there is noise, there would be a worry if there was silence when he wrestled

Because it isn't as good now as it was in the attititude era for me and many people. But thats not the point.

The point is that when the Rock debuted in 1997 the WWF business wise had been going through a very rough few years. Then with a combination of a few factors, importantly in this case the Rocks ability and charisma and the WWE giving him the chance to showcase that they went through a huge boom period where both parties benifitted.

Here's a question : when would of it been ok for the Rock to walk away?

Sure Cena deserves credit for being the main man all this time but he is doing it just as much for himself as he is for the fans and WWE i'd say.

But you can only really compare the 2 if Cena finds himself in the same boat as the Rock, which he never will do.

What would you do if Cena went to Hollywood and did the exact same thing, which inevitably he will?

I'd say the same thing about Cena, but he has made movies and, by the way still worked his wrestling schedule

No offence mate, but The Rock is in a completely different league to this Cena fella in terms of... well, everything really.

Although I feel sorry for Cena. I just caught up on the whole angle out of interest after watching a repeat of mania... let's just say the WWE are making the fella look stupid by putting him on the same pedestal as Rocky.

It's strange that The Rock is from an earlier era yet still feels more modern than Cena. There's a lot of Hulk Hogan about him.

Let's put it this way - I'm not surprised fans boo John. I can only hope for his sake that he's a heel by the time WM28 comes around. If anyone needs a heel turn, it's Cena.

True indeed.

However, Cena goes heel means kids stop buying t-shirts. Cena as a proper heel would be great but I just can't see them allowing it.

I wonder if in his heart he would want to try it as a bad guy?

Sad news wrestle fans.

Edge has has to retire with immediate effect. Doctors have advised him that should he continue he may become paralysed or even die. Pretty sad stuff.
Expect Christian to take over the reigns against Del Rio now.

More sad news:
R-Truth is in the title match at Extreme Rules.
