Yep that wasn't damaging to Strowman's monster gimmick at all....:oops:


That said, I liked the Roman Taker confrontation, has a big match Wrestlemania feel to it straight away (shame the streak is over really..... But if Taker is retiring, Roman is the right man to put in this spot)...

Roman is the worst possible choice of anyone WWE could use to face Taker in what looks to be his final match. The guy is already hated by a large portion of the audience and that would be the final nail in the coffin (pun intended). Cena is the most logical guy to end Takers career as he could carry him to a decent match, no way will Reigns be able to do that. I can't figure Vince out on this one, can't see he see how much damage he's doing to Roman with this push? The guy could be popular given the right push but he's becoming more damaged by the week because of the way he's used.

Your spot on over Strowman though, another silly move by WWE. They build the guy up for ages and damage his entire gimmick totally needlessly.

Originally I thought Cena was the right guy to retire Taker.... But he really isn't.... Cena is now entering the twilight of his own career, he ain't getting any bigger, and he ain't gonna be around full time much longer... Taker has to pass the torch to a younger guy, and like him or not, Roman is the only guy they can put in this spot.....

As for damaging Roman?.... He's getting to same crowd reactions Cena has got for years, and Cena done alright..... 80,0000 people at Mania booing Reigns, loudly chanting 'Lets go Roman, Roman Sucks!', loudly cheering Taker.... It'll be great! (could be a lot like Hogan vs Rock).....

He really isn't getting the same reaction as Cena got mate. Cena nearly always had a fifty-fifty split and apart from a few isolated venues it was never really bad and was mainly pantomime. Reigns is on a whole new level and is seriously disliked by a massive number of fans. he's Lex Lugar all over again years later. He's a booking disaster on every level because he's been massively overbooked. Him facing Taker will not lead to a split audience it will lead to the most one sided crowd reaction for a face vs face match seen in decades. It will be an embarrassment and Reigns will be beyond salvation at that stage unless they turn him heel. Cena might be in the twilight of his career but he can still wrestle a million times better the Reigns and can draw a bigger reaction without even trying. Reigns can barely carry himself to a decent match. How the hell will he be able to carry Taker to? Taker should of passed the torch to a younger guy your right but WWE don't have anyone ready for it who derserve it least of all Roman Reigns. There wouldn't be any "let's go Roman chants" at all unless WWE doctored the crowd noises (not impossible I'll admit).

Maybe the plan is to turn him heel during or after Mania..... Right now is pretty much already is....

I agree with your points on Reigns, I'm not a fan myself......but right now, if I'm looking at what can help the long-term Wwe product the most, I'm picking Reigns over Cena for this spot..... If there was another young talent who could be a credible opponent for Taker I'd go with him, but there isn't really anyone else (mainly down to poor booking)...
 
I'd rather wipe my ass with sandpaper than having to watch Clownman Reigns beat The Undertaker in 'takers last match. I'd actually prefer if Undertaker would just retire right now without a final match. He's obviously not in shape to wrestle anymore. He couldn't even throw proper punches like he used to at the rumble.

Doesn't matter if they turn Reigns heel either. He still won't get boo'd for being a good heel, he'll get boo'd for being an utterly uninteresting, boring and woeful performer to watch.

Unlike Kevin Owens, who I personally think is the best heel in the company right now. He's great at what he does, his character is so unlikeable at the moment I'd probably boo him too, even though I love him as a performer. "Luckily" he's not as amazing in the ring as AJ Styles, so the fans probably wont cheer him for having five star matches either. There's absolutely nothing charming about the KO character anymore and that's great. I love that he's dropped the comedy and the cool dude with snappy comments act, because even though it was entertaining it made him hard to take seriously. KO actually reminds me a bit of Jericho when he turned heel on HBK now.

KO vs Owens is also the only intriguing feud going into mania this year, which is pretty sad really (though I do kinda look forward to the Neville vs Austin Aries match).
 
Cena's apparently taking another break after WM so I think that explains why he isn't going to be in a big match. As some have said as well, he doesn't need the boost from beating Undertaker.

If I was going to pick anyone to retire Undertaker it would be Bray Wyatt but obviously he is tied up with other stuff.

Yes Bray would of also been my choice to retire Taker but unfortunately they've already squandered that match a few years ago. If Cena is taking a break after WM then it would be a good reason to book him into a big match vs Taker. You've got a ready made injury angle as to why he's not around after Mania. Obviously we all know he doesn't need the push but who else is on the current roster has the credibility to beat Taker and can also carry him to one final good match (and they're going to have to carry him, because he really needs it at this stage). Roman Reigns can barely carry himself through a half decent match let alone somebody else. Undertaker deserves a good final match not some bumbling botch machine like Reigns stinking the joint out.

I think you're being a bit harsh on Reigns. He isn't that bad in the ring, he is just booked in a bad way a lot of the time. I agree it is a bad decision to have him against Undertaker though.

As for Cena, I don't think the injury angle would work as he would almost certainly be booked to win which would annoy a lot of people. And with everyone knowing he is taking an extended break after WM it just wouldn't work very well in my opinion.

Another good option (who is also tied up/injured) would be Rollins. Arguably the best performer in the company and on the cusp of becoming the number 1 face. A really gruelling match against Undertaker which he eventually wins and ends with a handshake/hug/respect moment would cement him as the number 1 face for years to come. HHH wants his Mania moment again though so was never gonna happen.
