TX Bill is right, bloody Evertons pick holes in everything or is it just us Scousers................LET THE KID ALONE:(

Dunno if its a scouse thing, more a british trait that nobody is happy unless they are moaning and grumbling about something

Never happy unless we're complaining and unhappy about something or someone. Spot on. Another British-made paradox.
The Chinese will make it snow on us or something.

Gosling is pretty naff like lets be honest, goal at the weekend and against the [Poor language removed] not withstanding.

Nope - he's got good transfer value - he's young and has talent. If someone came knocking for Gosling, wouldn't be surprised to see Moyes let him go. If Vaughan can (taps nose) fetch $3M, Gosling could get $4-5M - no bad history track record.

This.

He's also a better youngster than anything the RS have got. So there.

Might even fetch a bit more in £ sterling :P

Don't have that key on my keyboard and lacking patience to find the pound sign but yes.

Just glad the US dollar is once again worth more than the Canadian looney - when it was cheaper, Canadians everywhere buying things and asking where the nearest Tim Horton's was. Dreadful.

He's got the potential to be a decent Premier League player, a useful squad player. I can't see him being anything more than that, he simply doesn't have the tools.

Great to see Rodwell dropping out of the under 21s, he'll hopefully get a much needed break and freshen up.

I agree. I can see him being a long servant at the club as a squad player, probably around the level of Osman. That isn't a bad thing at all.

Hah - thought you could slip that in, eh? let's get a few things straight:
  1. It's called the looney because it's named after our neighbours to the south.
  2. Tim Horton's is ace - that's official, as mentioned on this forum many times by one chicoazul - and if he says it, it's true - eh?
  3. "Canadians everywhere buying things and asking where the nearest Tim Horton's was" - compares favourably with Americans wandering all over Toronto not spending any money, asking where they can see polar bears, and objecting to the fact that in Canada all people get access to health care, even the poor and unemployed. Eh?
(Just kidding on one of the above :P).

By the way Chicago's an ace place too (but needs a Tim Hortons).

Not the first hi-jacked thread today, nor will it be the last I suspect.

On topic: Gosling's the new, improved Ossie. He's bigger and stronger, perhaps not quite as skillful, but also with an eye for goal. He'll likely never be a first choice starter, but will develop into an excellent squad player.

But he'll still always be remembered best for THAT goal.

First of all this lad is only 19, and after coming through what has seemed like personal hell these past few weeks - I can sense a serene calm and warm breeze flowing. Although that could be the red wine.

Anyway, this lad has qualities.

Positives:

Ambitious
Desire
Willingness
Can Shoot
Brave

Negatives:

Concentration
Which leads on to other things, but they may well be just because he is becoming too confident and it's not always coming off.

I will put my hand up and admit I thought he was not good enough, but I am willing to take stock, step back and concede that he may have potential and that it's a little unfair to unjustly criticise the lad this early in his career.

Other precedants for this is Pienaar, I thought he was average when he first signed, but turned out to be a world beater, same as Jags.

Players of old - Terry Phelan, I thought he was garbage, but he turned out to be superb on the left.

I hope we can rest this lad and bring him through slowly. He certainly has the confidence, and could be a gem once he matures.

I agree that red wine is very nice (y)

more negatives..

1. lacks pace.
2. lightweight.
3. lacks positional awareness.

2&3 might improve with experience...

In all fairness, Gosling may gain greater pace. It is not impossible to become quicker, look at Bolt for instance who keeps breaking his own world records.
