Interesting documentary on More 4 at the moment about Hitler. Already upturned two preconceived facts about him :
During WW1 he was a messenger not in the trenches but behind the lines, in fact a cushy job.
When suffering from a gas attack towards the end of the War he didn't go to an eye hospital, but instead went to a psychiatric ward.

Anyone seen the Amanda Knox documentary on Netflix? I turned it off after about half and hour and will try and watch it again another time. She comes across as thoroughly unlikeable and there's a journalist from the Mail who manages to outdo her.

Just I playered bb2 new Jimmy Salville documentary by LT looking back at his original 2001 documentary, and how clever the reptile of a human being was vivid viewing as JS really used that initial documentary in 2001 to his advantage!

Watched 3 and half minutes, 10 bullets last night on Netflix. Not seen it mentioned in here before. It's about a white man who pulls into a gas station with his partner, argues with 4 black lads in the car next to him about loud music and ends up shooting one dead. This is about his court case, it's only on for an hour and a half and well worth the watch for those who like a good factual documentary.

One to watch on catchup :

The Secret Life of Prisons.

It was on C4 last night. A real shocker and tragic too.

Real life in prison filmed through smuggled mobile phones.

Compelling and disturbing.

That's not a major surprise.

I was bored so I watched "Tony Robbins: I am not your Guru" on netflix. Tony Robbins, whose TV commercials I've seen on TV for a long long time, is a self-help guy, and usually his TV commercials are basically half-hour long infomercials about how his "self-help package" can "transform your life" ...of course, if you pay 400$ for it.

I had just written him off as another scam.

This movie was pretty amazing though. I actually gained a new respect for him. He seems quite genuine, yet simultaneously makes no apologies for the cost of his programs. He is honest about everything: both trying to help you and the fact that it is gonna cost lots of money for him to do so.

This documentary follows one of his week-long seminars that people sign up for, and pay an astounding 5000$ to attend. It is an amazing film and the following thoughts replayed through my head as I watched it:

--what a scam
--wow, people are messed up
--why I'm a such a cynical [Poor language removed], he's trying to help people
--no, it's a scam
--wow, she is VERY messed up, hope she gets the help she needs
--Tony Robbins is pretty honest and awesome
--or not, perhaps this is just overpriced woo and he prays on the weak
--or not, perhaps he's genuine
--Whoa, now THAT person is really in trouble
--why am I such a cynical person who judges Tony Robbins for trying to help others: what have I done to help others?
--5000$ for a week, holy cow, that's a lot of clams, what a waste
--Okay, maybe he's genuine
--What a hokey load of woo.
--But it seems to work for some people so more power to them (and Tony)

Repeat.

What an entertaining film.
