Gomes' miss was a worse mistake than Pickfords

..... I really can't see how playing the blame game is going to help.

I'd much prefer to think that we went to Anfield tonight and played our best football there in many a year. Matched the RS over long periods and with a bit of luck we would have taken the three points.

It wasn't to be tonight, but we played well and there is a hell of a lot to be positive about. Just remember the state we were in twelve short months' ago.

Shows the difference in quality between the keepers, one saved their team a goal the other cost theirs

Allisson has made a howler or two this season; the difference is that it hadn't cost his team points so people will quickly forget it, unlike poor old Pickers tonight. No goalkeeper is infallible.

I think had someone like Keane been in that position, he would have launched himself at it and put the ball, himself. and the keeper in the back of the net. But to be honest, it was a decent save really.

No.

Really good save by Alisson for that one. Probably should score but these things happen.

Pickford's mistake is a mistake born through poor decision making and poor physique/technique.

We shouldn't be throwing him under the bus. He's a decent keeper but not a great one. I think he's a bit over rate at the moment but he's good enough standard to get Top 7, maybe higher. Eye catching savings and good distribution most of the time. However, he lacks the size of other top goalkeepers. Makes him vulnerable to certain mistakes. Particularly when he has mad decision making at times
