Golf 2022....

They need to turn one of the big guns in order to make the PGA potentially negotiate any future joint ventures.

As big a names the likes of Johnson, Bryson and Brooks are, I feel like it would take a Speith, JT, Rory type name to make that happen.

Guess we’ll find out if this has staying power or not. I very much don’t like it. Now we’re just in a place with two diluted products. If LIV can’t figure out how to get ranking points, these guys are just going to keep getting more and more irrelevant in the next couple years.
The actual 'big fish' that are the current favorites to win majors haven't gone anywhere. It would be incredibly harsh to call DJ, Phil, Bryson and Koepka has-beens, as they have all won majors in the last three years, but none of them have played well in 2022.

It's also worth pointing out that the defecting "big-names" are among those with the least to lose, since they all have golden tickets to all of the majors except the PGA for the next few years via the exemptions for recent major winners. Even if Phil hadn't bagged last year's PGA, it's impossible to imagine the R&A telling Phil that John Daly, Justin Leonard, Paul Lawrie, David Duval, Ben Curtis, Todd Hamilton or Paedrig could tee it up at St. Andrews on a past champion's exemption, but that he can't. Ditto the Masters committee sending the letter to a three-time former champion who just gave back the Wanamaker Trophy.

Though I once heard Seve tell Alliss that the Masters committee wrote him to say that they wanted their jacket back (it's not supposed to leave the club) and that he told them to come get it.

Yeah. The big loss for me is actually Ancer. He’s a top 30 guy that is still making a name for himself. If it does happen that someone like Shaiffle, Zalatoris, or Burns goes as well, then it’s just gonna be sad.

McIlroy at the Travellers - has had 6 birdies during his second round, yet is over par for the round!
He’s gone from 1st place to currently 16th!

Rumours of Tommy Fleetwood taking the LIV pound or two, be a shame to lose him off the other tours if it turns out to be correct!
