Have the R&A said yet whether they are going to let the Liv golfers play at St Andrews

They both probably have 3 or 4 years exemption left anyway so will be able to play but yeah they'll start to drop out of the top 100 quick enough.I suppose they will already have qualified for this year, so it's probably an issue going down the line. Most of the qualification routes are through ranking or tour events. If they don't play tour events with ranking points then eventually they will not be eligible?
I don't see Brooks and Bryson turning up at regional qualifying any time soon either.
Yup. He’s on the downside on his career at this pointProbably good timing for him, he's injured more often than not. There's massive talent coming up behind him and overtaking him. He can play with his buddy Bryson a few times a year.
Keep hearing players saying "more time with the family" would they have jumped ship if their was no extra money to be made?As the Saudi tour keeps signing washed up fellas with decent names, wonder what happens to the no-name players who jumped over right away for 1-2m
Took a quick payday and got banned from the PGA, but are so easily replaceable
Fowler is probably the next one. Big name recognition but his game has been in the dumpster for some time nowAs the Saudi tour keeps signing washed up fellas with decent names, wonder what happens to the no-name players who jumped over right away for 1-2m

Guess we’ll find out if this has staying power or not. I very much don’t like it. Now we’re just in a place with two diluted products. If LIV can’t figure out how to get ranking points, these guys are just going to keep getting more and more irrelevant in the next couple years.
That might be their long term aim, but given how they’re selling it, I’m not sure how that shift would be received by the players. Won’t be watching personally, as the drama isn’t there. These guys wanted money over everything else and good for them they’ve got it. But at the same time when the 4 footer on 18 the last day is meaningless, it doesn’t have the same intrigue. This is it for me, these players have jumped at the money but what is the long term aim of this tour. The 3 day 'shotgun' style of golf does not compute with ranking points against players who are playing 4 day cut golf week in week out, it just wouldn't be workable.
They wanted something different, well they might just have to live with that or change to the more conventional golf format to have a viable product outside of just chucking money around.
