DM has made very few howlers in the transfer market - I made the mistake of judging Cahill and Jagielka when he signed them, never again. I let them play first, and see how they fit into the team. Gibbo is one of my favourite players, he does his job so well, with no fuss, either makes the tackle or breaks the play up.

You certainly can't argue that he picks up players that other clubs maybe are unsure about and get's the best out of them and elevates their game to another level.

I didn't say he was, i said he is this current teams mr dependable like carsley was in the past. I said nothing about his footballing style being like carsley.

Agree, I also reckon they are both capable of good long shots, Osmans heading is very good at times, Gibson is stronger but overall Gibson plays him off the park simply with his decision making, defending and passing. The three main attributes required for his position.
Osman is a good player though and unlike some here, I am never upset when he plays.

So true, not sure about the first two lines, was he really written off by the vast majority before he started?
But the whole glue description is very apt.

He was, but that's only fair, he couldn't get into a gash United midfield and they let him go for only 500k. No one knew much about him and then we were at a pretty low point; he wasn't looked at as a guy who could come in and turn our season around. We were more focused on Donovan coming back in on loan and getting a striker.

I think he's taken arteta's role. Now before everyone screams I don't mean he's the same player or as good as arteta but he offers a calmness and general ticking over of the team like arteta did, all be it in a different style.

If there was no arteta in our side or now Gibson I think we always look very rash and unstable in CM.
