Gerard Deulofeu - Once a Blue, always a Blue

Ones proven in the prem, ones just been picked in the worst eleven in Spain

Climb off the delacrap train mate and open your eyes to his bog standard abilitys
Barcelona's 10th choice > Tottenham's 8th choice.

In all seriousness, Lennon is just a workhorse, whose output will likely drop once he's on a long-term deal. Deulofeu would require more effort from the manager, but there's a serious goal threat there.

Can I ask why you're comparing Deulofeu, a 19 year old kid when with us last time, in his first ever full season at a top flight club, in a foreign country, to Lennon a 29 year old Premier League veteran?

Doesn't seem a very fair comparison really.
And if getting the ball in the back of the net or assisting someone else to do so is important in the comparison Deulofeu was better in his time on the pitch anyway.

Wouldnt, hes always been a grafter wherever hes been

£3m would get you a decent level Championship player at most. Getting Del with all of his obvious potential feels completely absurd. Could turn out to be one of the biggest bargains ever

hilarious that people moan about how we lack creative and tear apart "grafters" like naisy but then bang on about lennon saying "he ran loads for us" and him saving us from relegation. don't get me wrong I'd pay 5m for lennon as he did help but this whole debate is nonsense anyway. can easily afford both unless we give into Levy's 9m crap for a player w/ 1 year left on his deal

Not saying it's true, partly true or total fabrication as I've no idea. I was just mentioning a report in the Spanish press about a Spanish player we've supposedly tied up a deal for. And in a thread with his name as the title.

A bit of perspective is called for.

If Deulofeu had been as good last season as we hope he will benext season if he signs , then he wouldn't be coming here in the first place.(mental gymnastics I know.)

We are certainly not trying to sign the finished article , but the potential is enormous.
Yes, he was a bit greedy, but he was only nineteen and has a lot to learn.

Has he the skill in his game to play as a creative central midfielder , I think so.
If he signs and signs on a permanent basis then his relationship with the club will be different.
Loan players at a club compared to players signed permanently are a bit like the difference between the chicken and the pig in a bacon and egg sandwich The chicken is involved but the pig is committed.
