I can't tell you how overjoyed I'd be.

It'd be a first to play without a number...He'll choose one but clearly waiting to see how the squad shakes out before the end of the transfer window - #17 looks likely

No idea of the credibility of this (obviously Spanish) publication but the article seems to suggest that Gerard hasn't exactly shone in pre-season and Luis Enrique has been critical of him.

Nonstory, IMO...Enrique is a motivational taskmaster and everyone knows Deulo's biggest weakness involves his tracking back...Against the Finnish team, that was largely what he was doing in that 15 minute cameo...It's the same approach Pep would employ

But we'll see, everything Gerard has said publicly regarding Lucho & his defensive responsibilities has been positive...If he doesn't track back, then he'll sit on the bench
