Gardening with Joey

The Gardening with @Joey66 thread is sadly locked so I'm making a new thread.

How much do you reckon it'll cost to have the grouting completely redone in this garden ? materials and labour.

Best thing to do IMO is not to put any fine sand in the flag cracks a mixture of building sand 4-1 & add plenty of salt in to the mix as much as you can afford as this is a great preventive weed killer do a big dry mix & brush in rake out any loose pointing first..with a stiff brush on a dry day - the moisture overnight should set the mix - so you can do it yourself easily - you have to avoid rain for at least three days for it to set - get a large rubber hammer - & bang the mix down on each flag or brick till it fully settles remove the dry mix from the flags after each go -

When set you can later use pure beach again brushed in to each flag - to clean your paving if need be & it will look like new for very little cost ;)

Depends on whether you’re getting quotes for the square foot or the whole job.

My missus recently had three quotes for getting ours done, that ranged from 900 - 300.

Similar size to yours, but that included a jet wash of all the moss too, so just the grouting should be cheaper.

It’s not hard to do yourself, it’s just a real boring pain in the arse job.

Its cold & wet that's why .... when dry keep your lawn cut ....
It's miserable alright, I do have about half an acer that is going to get a lawn hopefully this year, but there's no major rush, Was thinking of launching a few wildflower seed bombs over part of it and see what happens and a few apple trees on another part.

Lobbing wildflower seeds all over it and sticking a few apple trees in is way better than a lawn.

Lawns are overrated pains in the arse. A big old mess of wildflowers looks way better and can give the appearance of being cared for by mowing a path or two through it.
