Exactly, they could have cut some of the wacky camera angles, the running around butchering extras, the scythe, that pointless fireside chat scene with Yigrette (sp?) and the Thenns, and most of the Tarly tedium out and all of the siege and the battle where Stannis turns up in the same episode.

Aye but it makes it a lot better, plus I think the shows been in need of a battle up north after they missed out the Fist of the First Men stuff. Easier solution: extra episode.

To be fair, its been 12 years since I read A Storm of Swords, so I can't be arsed to remember half of the battle. God knows why they changed the timeline and condensed half of the drama from the book into a 5 minute scene in the previous episode so that they could spend 45 minutes
