My Arya theory is that she returns to Westeros a kick ass assassin, hooks up with the wolf pack and kills all the Freys(there are hundreds of them), similarly Rickon who has been living with the cannibals on Skagos will return to take the north and eat the Basterd of Bolton. Oh and Melisandra to save John Snow, Stannis will die in the snow at the siege and John Snow will be The Lord of lights new chosen one

I hope Bran doesn't get too caught up with the Children of the forest and does quickly move onto Howland Reed. Also who is Coldhands? I originally thought he was Benjen Stark, but Bran would recognise him.

and then to cap it all off, George RR Martin will kick the bucket halfway through the final book.
Or they all get eaten by whitewalkers. Or something, the vindictive tosspot.

Bran never saw his face, so it could still be him

or it cuts to a final scene where all the Starks are around Brans bed and he wakes up from a seriously long green dream and says for Ned not to go to Kings landing lol

yer Regarding Coldhands, I was thinking Benjen Stark as well

Haha that would be nuts and a bit pants, GRRM has said he is determined not to rush the ending as he was a fan of Lost and knows how gutting it is for a fan if the ending is screwed up

someone postulated on one of the forums it was "Daemon Blackfyre II. At the end of the Mystery Knight he is taken captive by BloodRaven. He is much younger than Bloodraven and was supposedly going to be kept alive to thwart Bittersteel. If Bloodraven was let out of the dungeons to be sent to the wall with Aemon, why not Daemon too? It would make sense that he would be tied with Bloodraven, his dragon's blood may even help ward against the Other's. Aegon V knew Daemon as a man of honor (not taking ransoms during the tourney, giving Ser Glendon a trial by combat, even going against Lord Peake to find out the truth) and once he took his oath as a brother of the NW he wouldn't break it. He may even have made BR swear to keep him in line. " this ties in with a quote from the children of the forest saying "coldhands died a long time ago" , which considering how long they live suggests its not Benjen but someone (hopefully notable) from long ago

That would totally make it for me though. Perhaps a scene where it cuts to GRRM sitting in a leather armchair writing and he finishes writing it, looks at it then chucks it into the fire. I would fume though.

one of the worst things is when a author dies halfway through a series. I was an avid fan of the Wheel of Time, and the author Robert Jordan died at like book 11 of 14. The guy he got in to write it as a back up was alright, but it wasnt really the same, even if it was based on what he outlined in his notes. I just hope that that doesnt happen here

I also subscribe to the theory that Jaqen H'ghar, the assassin that recruits Arya is actually Daario Naharis, the sellsword that joins Daenaerys. In the books it describes Jaqen transforming into a Eastern man with blue hair, and many earrings. Then Daario Naharis is described as having dyed blue long curly hair and a matching dyed blue beard with three prongs and a gold tooth. While that obviously hasnt translated properly into the films with different actors, I think its actually likely that they are still one and the same.

I think Jaqen is Aryas sword master, the water dancer fella, we never saw or read of him dying and he's not been seen since.

Yeah I've thought that as well. It was Varys who introduced Syrio to Ned to train Arya, and it'd be very easy for Varys to have hidden Syrio (with a change of face) in the Black Keep to go the wall with Yoren.

People who've only been watching the TV show will be dying to click those spoiler links. They'll be proper gutted when they realize its only gifs of animals humping

Definitely only for people who have read all the books.

Anyone else subscribe to the theory that Jon Snow isn't actually Nad's [Poor language removed] son, but is actually Lyanna Stark and Rheagar Targaryens child? Making him related to Daenerys.

She wasn't really captured, but they were in love and got together, but obviously she was meant to be marrying Robert Baratheon which started the war which would see him become king.

In one of the books Ned is said to have found her dying in a bed of blood (birth of child) and Ned is always said to have made a promise to Jon's mother. It'd also make it more understandable why he was willing to protect Jon when it made Catelyn hate him for a long time.

The only other person alive who was there was Jojen and Meera Reed's father Howland Reed so he may know he truth.

This was my thoughts from reading the books, and it seems a lot of people I talk to have similar thoughts too. There's loads of fan pages which go into loads of detail on the theory if ya can be arsed googling it too.

It may be well wide of the mark as you never know what GRRM is up to.

[\SPOILER]

been thinking about this, the problem with this theory is that John looks nothing like a Targareyan, he's dark haired while they are all blonde and have the purple eyes. Could he be the last of House Reyne of Castamere, they were destroyed by Tywin early in his reign. Did honourable Ned promise a dying princess of House Reyne that he would protect her baby, would explain why he had to keep his identity secret.

[QUOTE
Thee Reynes sided with the greens during the Dance of the Dragons. Lord Reyne was killed during the Battle by the Lakeshore.[3]

Robb Reyne was a famous knight and partisan of Daemon Blackfyre.

The lord of House Reyne during the rule of Lord Tytos Lannister was dubbed the "Red Lion of Castamere". When the match of Genna Lannister and Emmon Frey was announced, the Red Lion angrily left the hall at Casterly Rock. Later during the rule of Tytos, Lord Reyne rebelled against his overlord along with theTarbecks of Tarbeck Hall. Lord Reyne was an experienced warrior while Lord Tytos was rather weak, so it appeared that their rebellion could be successful. In the end Tytos's young son and heir, Tywin Lannister, held the command of the Lannister army. Tywin besieged the castles and destroyed the rebels. After the rebellion the seats of the rebels were brought down and both houses were exterminated. It is not known if the rebels died in acts of war or that they were executed.
