The Jon Snow predictions.. have you guys read the books?
I was absolutely gutted to get to the end of them, left it on a big cliff hanger. He really doesn't like good guys does he? The bearded tosser best pull his finger out and get it finished.
He hasn't finished yet. Lots of people are hoping he doesn't die before that too...he isn't the finest specimen of humanity...

Anyway, I like how he writes. He has been quoted as saying that he wakes up one morning & thinks "What if X dies?" Then he writes it & all the repurcussions! Stops the books from being predictable, like Feist's books are.

Book stuff- no TV spoilers

In the last episode there is a scene where Joffery is talking to Jamie whilst looking through the book that lists all of the Kings guard, he's basically taking the p155 out of him as nothing has been written on his page. He points out that Sir Duncan the Tall had four pages full.

I'll get to the point now, Sir Duncan the Tall is the main Character in three short stories written by GRRM, the Hedge Knight, The Sworn Sword and The Mystery Knight, otherwise known as The Tales of Dunc and Egg. They are comic style books published by Marvel, set in Westeros 100 years before ASOFAI (Game of Thrones). They have relevance to the story in "Thrones" and make a good infill while waiting for The Winds of Winter to be released.

If you read them you will need this:-http://gamesofthrones.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/2pYvW.png (I've checked it for TV spoilers, it's all good)

Definitely only for people who have read all the books.

Anyone else subscribe to the theory that Jon Snow isn't actually Nad's [Poor language removed] son, but is actually Lyanna Stark and Rheagar Targaryens child? Making him related to Daenerys.

She wasn't really captured, but they were in love and got together, but obviously she was meant to be marrying Robert Baratheon which started the war which would see him become king.

In one of the books Ned is said to have found her dying in a bed of blood (birth of child) and Ned is always said to have made a promise to Jon's mother. It'd also make it more understandable why he was willing to protect Jon when it made Catelyn hate him for a long time.

The only other person alive who was there was Jojen and Meera Reed's father Howland Reed so he may know he truth.

This was my thoughts from reading the books, and it seems a lot of people I talk to have similar thoughts too. There's loads of fan pages which go into loads of detail on the theory if ya can be arsed googling it too.

It may be well wide of the mark as you never know what GRRM is up to.

There were 3/4 Kingsguard defending her solely. Has to be more than just a rape, needs to be a heir to protect as well IMO with that in mind.

I also subscribe to the theory that Jaqen H'ghar, the assassin that recruits Arya is actually Daario Naharis, the sellsword that joins Daenaerys. In the books it describes Jaqen transforming into a Eastern man with blue hair, and many earrings. Then Daario Naharis is described as having dyed blue long curly hair and a matching dyed blue beard with three prongs and a gold tooth. While that obviously hasnt translated properly into the films with different actors, I think its actually likely that they are still one and the same.

They're actually novellas that were made into graphic novels. He's intending on writing quite a few more of them too.

There are a few other stories set in the same universe. Mainly based around House Targaryen I think.

I always thought Jacqan H'ghar was the Alchemist who kills Pate near he Citadel and takes his face, and later meets Samwell?

Quite possibly. He turns us all into crazed little conspiracy theorists to afraid to pick a favourite character knowing he'll kill them off.
And then he brings them back to life FFS. What is this black magic

@Duncan Disordely @Kiwi both plausible theories, definately, here's my theory
One of the theories I'm into is that Tyrian isn't Tywins son and is actually Agon Targaryens [Poor language removed]. Agon is alleged to have raped Tyrians mother, she kept it quiet to avoid a war, there are a few clues, Tyrians been fascinated with dragons since a child, he has odd coloured eyes and he didn't catch the grey scale when he fell in the contaminated water, John Connington did. So I've got Tyrian down as the third dragon riider, Daenerys and Aegon being the other two. My outside bet for who sits on the throne at the end is Aegon, Rheagars son, he is the natural heir ahead of Dany,

As an aside, Arya is an utterly fascinating character. She has me hooked like.
I'm curious, what do you thing will happen to the new Targaryan heir. Is he legit or not. IMO hes going to be introduced and a dragon will eat him or something daft. The whole Bran storyline is curiously weird for me. Hopefully we get to find out what really happened in that tower as they introduce the dad of those twins, M. Howland Reed
