only started watching this recently, caught up now and i must admit i am really looking forward to the new series.

The problem i have with the thing though is that anything of any interest is kept at arms length to keep you watching. For example;

1. I am a warlock...gone after season 2
2. You are a Waarg harry........no real mention apart from the bird and mckenzie crook.
3. Fire god is the one true god, lets not show you much of him eh?
4. White walkers in the north? Only need to show them twice in the season, not like they are clearly important to the story or anything...

Anybody agree?

whats the warlock thing?

its kind of a standard literary/television 'trick'..

Not a spoiler but a theory:

Winter is Coming is a reference to the coming of the white walkers getting over the wall and invading the lands. The whole GOT series is building up to this. The white walkers can only be destroyed by dragon magic. In this case it's all set for The Mother Of All Battles between Daenerys's fully-grown dragons and the White Walkers, with the petty tribes of men (those that haven't died yet anyway) setting aside their squabbles, merely watching in awe.

After the battle, the Dragons and WW's are spent, cancelling each other out. The men left standing begin a new age, eventually becoming part of our own real Earth history (BSG-style).

I like the sound of that. Danaerys is clearly the main character so it is building up to her travelling accross the sea with her dragons to take the throne.

However one thing i dont get is the white walkers keep coming back after each summer, so where is it they come from?

I think the term winter has been pretty explicit in meaning, well winter so far.

BUT, i really hope they end the whole thing along those lines because that sounds good :)

just testing the swear filter :)

The problem with every story except for Danearys is that they clearly aren't as important as she is. They all play their part sure but name me one character still alive by the tv point anyway that you can honestly say is vital to the story (that isn't going to die in the future?)

My point is out of everyone, they are all disposable (i havent read the books myself btw).

And accross the narrow sea is the last decendant of the famous royal family.

Oh and she has dragons, bloody great big dragons.

Sure she isnt going to be important all the way through this.

There's waaay too many books for it be that simple.

well, there is a market for that.

aye, but even the most epic series has to end some way. Check out how Stephen King ended The Dark Tower series.
Yeah but I mean what you said would happen could happen in the next 3/4 series or so, there's about 8 left.
