Last summer we failed to sign a CB and that gave Holgate gametime and the chance to kick-on and become our best all round CB. Seeing Branthwaite play the last couple of games, missing out on Gabriel might just do the same.

Provided Keane to Barcelona shout is not true, we will have 4 perfectly adequate CBs. Fix for CM is the urgent need not CB.

...pity we missed out, he’s the type of player we need in central defence. I also like Salisu who joined Southampton, indeed if they keep Ings I reckon Southampton could do well next season and I’ll be looking to back them when the Handicap ratings come out.
