I genuinely don't get the point of a medical in February. If COVID didn't happen there would still be..what, 5 months left before he really even joined?
I think maybe they just wanted the transfer pretty much wrapped up ASAP like Chelsea did with Ziyech.

The thing that doesn't add up for me is if they wanted him so desperately that they were prepared to do a medical 5 months early, then surely they want him desperately enough to pay a few extra million?

I guess we don't know enough about the clubs finances to speculate. COVID could have made it so we couldn't afford him when we looked at our budget and how many transfers we need. It's why I'm a little skeptical we're still in for him now.
Yes, I understand what a journalist does.
A good journalist doesn’t deal in speculation.
He gets his info directly from the club and will only report on it when he knows it to be true.
Just because other outlets have been first doesn’t make them more reliable than Joyce.
