….happy to be going in at 0-1, the 2nd goal was always going to be key and we got it.

We found a way, I think there’s real belief in this team and in this squad.

I’m going for a literally left field MoM, as much as I criticise Mykolenko and the fact he scored an OG do not detract from possibly two key moments in the match. I don’t know how he managed to get in ahead of Jiminez and clear that ball from the six yard box (the ref gave a goal kick), and then his part in that key equaliser. He rarely gets an assist but fair play to him with that spin and set up.

Love it when we win, just need to follow it up for once.
I went Mykolenko using precisely the samerrasoning. I have come to see him as a solid defensive full back with severe limitations going forward.

Well, that defensive run to beat Jimenez to that ball was class...so was his turn to set up the assist. He was suddenly in yards of space.

Really?
I think you’ve got a bit giddy and forgotten the huge number of games we’ve bottled under Moyes. We get opportunity after opportunity to make a two game winning run into a three game winning run, often against ‘weaker’ opposition and then fail to take advantage. I mean, just take a look at our home form this season and our form in the cups.
In comparison to Silva?

My post was in response to a Moyes vs Silva comparison

Absolutely...and have.
Better teams might put us to the sword if we play like that again.
Better teams might NOT put us to the sword if we play like that again.
Worse teams might put us to the sword if we play like that again.
Worse eams might NOT put us to the sword if we play like that again.

It's the top tier of English football. All results are possible.

I don't understand your constant negativity. You highlighted PART of a comment.
I'm celebrating a win. I'm enjoying it whilst I can.

Why? When we miss chances or hit the bar do we say we are unlucky ?

No , we whinge tha are strikers are crap …

They hit the bar , we hit the post , they only beat Pickford with an own goal and that was after Keane passed to the in the box …

They didn’t kill is off … and they paid for it …

But the original point being made was that we should have gone in 4-0 Down “ and that’s a fact “ it’s not fact though is it? That’s the point I was making … fats are facts … saying we should have or could have is a matter of opinion
I never said it was a fact.

Agreed. Keane has been awful on several occasions over the years but for the last two seasons he has often played much better than Tarkowski.

But because Tarkowski makes overt displays of pub league aggression and winds opposition players up he gets a free pass from a lot of people. It has it's place for sure and he's a great backs to the wall sitting deep defender but ultimately there's a reason clubs with real ambitions have never come sniffing.

Looking forward to the day we get an actual RB in the squad and those two are competing for a place on the bench behind O'Brien and Branthwaite at CB.
I think Keane was better than him in this game but I’m just don’t think that it is objectively true that is often the case.

An how many times in the past have we “played better football” and lost. Particularly under Martinez

I’m taking what I can get under Moyes currently, which is an ability to get results, no matter how

Is he the right man to get us into Champions League and truly battle at the top? Who knows. All i know is that for stabilizing a recent relegation fighting club, he’s been the perfect man for us to transition to that

I’d understand you giving it to Mykolenko if he had scored because that’s why KDH has got all those votes not because he was the best player, imo.Mylo did well in those two instances but poor in many other ones, I gave it to James Garner because he was one of the few players who was good in both halves of the game and terrific in the second half driving the team on and winning tackles in own half and theirs and setting up many of the attacks on the Fulham goal.

What's that rating based on?

I'm not entirely convinced by a metric that tells people Tarkowski is the best centre-half in the league.
Whoscored make ratings for each team and each player for each match. Players are given marks for blocks, clearances, key passes, goals, assists etc.

fwiw here are the two defensive sheets for Tarks and Keane

On an average game Tarks makes both more blocks and tackles and aerials won than Keane.
