Friendlies

I thought this was a “winter break” rather than an international one.

Some countries are having internationals. Regardless of international/winter break why aren't we keeping the players fresh with a friendly or two? Especially considering we're going into an extremely pivotal period. 2 weeks off for them is too much.

For some National teams there is no option not to play this break. Colombia for example is playing today against Peru for a spot in the World Cup and that was a schedule set by FIFA.

Newcastle had a warm weather friendly today. Preparing for a crucial league game some might say yet where are we? What have we been doing? They'll be going into that game even bigger favourites now.

Yeah if we were playing in warm weather conditions, it’ll be freezing cold or raining possibly a week on Wednesday. It’ll mean absolutely nothing

Newcastle playing friendlies and preparing. We have our manager off down to London for a day out with the boys club.

Of couse it means something? It's more minutes in players legs, more chances to practice set pieces idea etc. We need a friendly.
How many Premier League clubs are playing friendlies this weekend mate? How many play them during international breaks?
