Fred Pickering

Fred has suffered a stroke and is now in Blackburn Hospital. I must have seen him in most of his games for the Blues and have always had a soft spot for him and I wish him well and extend my sympathies to his family. Many of you younger members will not have seen him play but believe me he was a good striker for Everton as the older members on the forum will I am sure testify.

So lets extend our best wishes from all of the forum to Fred and his family.

Hat-trick on his debut against Forest, I was there, hat-trick on his England debut, blue record of two goals every three games, cost £85,000 from Blackburn and we Blues went crazy when he joined. Get well Fred you were a good one lad, pity injuries brought your Goodison tenure to an early end
