Very, very pleased with how he's got the team playing as a unit so far. Looking better on the ball with each game, just lacking clinical finishing.

Set-piece defending has dramatically improved, I still think we surrender a few too many chances but how much of that is not having a proper 6 or the fact our CB pairing aren't the most mobile (though they have both been great).

The following is from BBC when releasing team of the week.

Apart from the fact that Conor Coady is a very good defender, his movement in the opposition penalty area is reminiscent of a striker. You can tell when a player loves scoring goals because they go hunting for them. Everton are still some way from becoming a top-six side but anything less will see Lampard fighting to retain his job. Talk of the Everton manager taking over from England boss Gareth Southgate at the end of the World Cup may not be without foundation but is premature. Lampard is hugely likable but widely inexperienced.

What the hell are they bleating on about at the end there?
It's meant to be about a CH, not manager??

What planet is this guy on?

Bizarre that he was once the media’s golden boy who they adored, to becoming someone they actively want to fail

But NEA what those Tory pen pushers write, he’s turned the club on its head, galvanised the entire thing and we are all happy to be on the same page

Apart from those rats who are still crying over the fat kopite
No one goes on about Rafael as much as you.

People talking about 7th place finishes already are setting unrealistic expectations. I know a few of fat man’s disciples are doing it so they can say the manager failed when he doesn’t achieve this.

But the sound minded ones need to remember that:
1) we haven’t finished 7th since 2017
2) we haven’t finished top half since 2019
3) we survived relegation by the skin of our teeth last season after one of our worst ever seasons with the club being in complete turmoil.

This season is all about laying the foundations.
Of course we should be aiming to finish as high as possible, but we need to remain realistic.

While you’re absolutely right, I’m pleased that level of unrealistic expectation has reared its head - because it means we’re doing better than we might have feared.

I’d be very happy with 10th this season, especially given the clear and obvious improvement in our play. It’s a long journey back, and although indications are we’re on track, we need to temper expectations as you say.
