2022/23 Frank Lampard

There are a couple of separate issues which need to be looked at separately but reading so many posts on here people are crossing over and back between the two and just getting bogged down.

The first issue is the board and owner and I think there is universal agreement they have failed in nearly every possible way.

The second issue is that we have the manager we have and the players we have and the questions to be answered are if the manager has it in his locker to get us to safety and if he is getting the best from the players at his disposal.
It isn't really true to say the board landed the manager in the manure as he was allowed to bring 8 players into the club during the summer and 4 of those play every week. 2 more are Involved in just about every game and James Garner was starting to play more regularly before his injury. I am guessing the manager had an input into these signings.
On the other hand I think not signing Gibbs-White or Kudus has hurt us badly and that is not the managers fault.

Sacking the board today will make absolutely no difference to where we are at this moment.

There, in my opinion, is only one question that needs to be answered and that is how we avoid relegation between now and May.

Ive had enough of him at every final whistle….then after every pre-game presser I really really want him to succeed and lead us to glory. Looks inevitable now, but wish he could have been our Marco Silva (the 2022 version not the mumbling imposter we had).

Eddie Howe always wanted to play expansive exciting football, didn't have the defense to do it...he has now

Expansive football will get us relegated with the players we have.

The fact remains that Evertonians were totally against the appointment of Eddie Howe.

I'm not denying that. Equally though, I don't think using Eddie Howe as an example to justify Dyche measures up. Howe always had room for progression if the right pieces fit, Dyche doesn't
I think many would now say we made a mistake not wanting Howe, I doubt very much we would end up saying that about Dyche after a few seasons of Dycheball

Dyche in charge isn't what anyone wants, but it could be the best we can get. We are so low right now we need someone who can get us to lower mid table.

I have no faith in Lampard. In nearly a year there haven't been any improvements. It's actually getting worse.

I gurantee when it comes down to it too Bill, Moshiri and Thelwell will all throw different names with completely different styles into the ring.

Spot on, and there in be the problem. I think they're all hoping Moyes gets the axe at WH so they can move for him (and WH are probably hoping we pay them a few mil compensation so they can get someone else).

I can guarantee that any manager we go with will be unattached currently. No way on earth we can afford any compensation.

We mustn't kid ourselves into thinking the performance against City was some sort of masterclass. We had 26% possession and 2 shots, we got lucky Gray scored a rocket and Man City had an off-day.
