Utterly humiliated. So much so, that we never see the likes of McNeil, Maupay, Mykolenko and Tom Davies ever again in an Everton shirt, and Lampard is finally relieved of his duties. Wouldn't that bring about a positive change if we no longer had to put up with all of that?

Sorry, but even when we had Benitez, I never wanted us to lose. I wanted him sacked but I always wanted us to win. I never want us to lose. They aren’t mutually exclusive views.

That's exactly his point.

Boiling it down to "he goes if he loses to United" is totally absurd.

It's not that crazy to be honest. I mean it's questionable for sure, but it's kind of acceptable. I've said before, there'll always be a tipping point for these things - a time at which you go from believing that things can be salvaged to thinking that they can't. It's not how i'd handle it, but I can understand that we might have reached the point where the board are willing to give him one more shot to prove he can do it and will sack him if not.

Before the latest squad collapse we had one of the best defences in the league playing 4 at the back.

It’s the same personel issue that has happened at the end of every managers tenure here, players down tools and start shipping lots of goals, we could be playing 10-0-0 and we would be conceding loads.

As a fan group we encourage it by turning on any manager that tires to play attacking football and allow the squad to fall into the sweet comfort zone of negative football.

However De Zerbi is known for setting up to play through teams at pace
I learned that in 10minutes online and watching Brighton twice since he joined
Lampard should/does know this too and it was naive to set up the way he did, no getting around that unfortunately

But beyond that, it's a totally arbitrary indicator, and if it's true it suggests a completely mindless approach.

Lampard should be judged on performances and results over an extended period, to the point where any single game is not a deciding factor.

Though having said all of that - my gut feeling knowing what I do about the way this football club operates tells me that losing to Southampton would 100% spell the end. I think if we're looking for a watershed, it's that game.

I understand people being worried about the next 2 important games and think getting rid of FL now will help us in that, but there is no-one that can take over in the interim. It could backfire massively
Giving him Utd away is just weird because their reserves will beat us at Old Trafford
Unless we have a good manager lined up what's the point?

Again, I've already reached my tipping point, but I don't think it's as strange as you're suggesting. You gradually get to a point where you're saying 'I still believe in you but this needs to be turned around quickly' until you finally reach breaking point, and say that one more defeat is just one defeat too many, whoever it comes against. It's not just a football thing, it happens in every day life. How many people have split up with a partner over a minor argument, because it's the final straw, or quit a job after a day that was no worse than 100 others but just meant you'd had your fill? Whenever he was sacked, it would evidently be because the previous performance and/or result had been enough to convince the decision makers that it was over. For a lot of people here it was Tuesday night, that much is clear. It's not that crazy to think that the board might be arriving at the same conclusion one game later.

I had high hopes of him from the start but now I have to say doubts exist. When I see the team selections, subbing and tactics I wonder is he actually fit for the job. Previous stints not altogether successful.
