AFC FYLDE VS AFC TELFORD
11th October, 2025

=Telford result.webp

Fellow promotion hopefuls AFC Telford were the next visitors to Mill Farm. Fylde looking to further extend their lead at the top of the table. Kian Robinson replaced Paul Townsend and partnered O'Neill up front, Robinson receiving the knock down from O'Neill after 30 minutes and trying a curling shot from outside the box but put it just over the bar. It was a quiet first half, both sides going in at 0-0. Fylde were caught out and winger Stanley came forward unopposed, drifting forward and getting his shot away to give Telford the lead. Fylde never composed themselves in time and found themselves down by two goals 2 minutes later, Hollis scrambling the ball over the line from the corner with Hadler Wright-Phillips causing each other problems and not dealing with the danger. Fylde's unbeaten run looking likely of coming to an end. Lamptey came forward with the ball and saw Henderson creating space for himself and whipped in the cross for the winger to get his 50th goal for Fylde! The coasters in control of possession since getting one back and not allowing Telford anywhere near the ball. Henderson tried a shot from range and was unlucky hitting the post, Wright-Phillips followed it up and scored with the ball deflecting off the last defender, Fylde back in the game! Seconds remained on the clock and Fylde tried the long ball forward approach but Telford kept a deep line, the match resulting in a point apiece for both sides.

In the build-up to the F.A. Cup Fourth Qualifying Round, goalkeeper Tom Hadler has sustained an ankle ligamant injury and will be sidelined for 8 weeks. Second in command Harry Wright will replace him and look to keep the defensive solidarity.

DF: Losing Hadler is a big deal but Harry has been working hard in the background and now is his chance to stake a claim, if he does well over the next couple of months then he will rightfully keep his place.

F.A. CUP FOURTH QUALIFYING ROUND
AFC Fylde vs Guiseley
18th October 2025

=Guiseley result.webp

A distraction from league action and the opportunity to enter the F.A. Cup first round! Ferguson made wholesale changes to the side with many thinking he was taking a risk. Feeney was replaced by MacDonald, Sterling replaced Henderson, Fisher replaced Josh Ferguson and Danny Smith returned from injury to replace Wright-Phillips. 21 year old promising midfielder Billy Price made the bench along with 17 year old striker Lee Lofthouse. Danny Smith got the crowd on their feet early on, showing tremendous footwork to dance past Walker on the right flank, spread the ball across to Sterling who took it on the chest and placed it in the back of the net. Fylde taking an early lead but it was not all plain sailing, Guisely worked hard to win second balls and put in a physical battle with the National league leaders, they got the ball forward well into wide areas and nobody was stopping the header from Richard Thomas who climbed tall above Connolly and Okoroji to level the score. Fylde took the lead just before half time, O'Neill belting the ball hard into the top corner inside the box from the corner, looking like a burst of frustration from the striker. Recent reports of Nigel Clough keeping an eye on the striker for Grimsby Town. Seven minutes after the restart, Fylde hit Guisely on a quick counter, Dan Fisher running forward and spotting Sterling on the overlap, Sterling got into the area and squared the ball for Danny Smith who scored on his first game back, brilliant goal for the wizard on the wing. Fylde almost over the line but with minutes to go Guisely threatening that two goal cushion having a header straight at Wright, but the keeper pushed it back into danger with Connolly clearing the ball quickly. Guisely caused a scare when on 91 minutes made it 3-2, Joe White getting the ball into feet inside the area and burying it low past Wright. Nervous moments for Fylde late on but the win in the bag, fortunately enough.

DF: They were well up for it! Chased down everything, never stopped running. I was screaming at players for most of the game for letting Guiseley get in their faces and take the game to them! They were a real threat and I'm not gonna lie, I thought they were gonna get an equaliser at the end. We have to switch on more, be focused and not let all our hard work be undone. Fair play to Guiseley, our lads got away with it but words will be said.

Fylde vs Sutton United
25th October 2025

=sutton result.webp

The first real chance of the match came after 20 minutes and it was Mick Wisdom's free kick on the right hand side of the box. It looked like the cross was the best option but Wisdom hit one towards the near post and the keeper fumbled it in, Fylde off to a good start. Tyrone O'Neill attempted to double the lead getting one on one with the Sutton keeper but he done well to get down low to keep it out. Fylde kept on the pressure in the second half, O'Neill playing Townsend through on goal but again the Sutton keeper keeping them in the game. Mick Wisdom was winning everything in midfield and after giving the ball to Connolly, he found Townsend making a forward run, Townsend was through on goal but this time putting it low past the keeper, the Fylde fans erupting into raptures behind the goal! Sutton started to come into the game in the final 20 minutes, Ferguson instructing his side to keep their concentration, 15 minutes from time Paul Townsend was through on goal once again, this time hitting the post. The strikers positioning was nothing short of excellent today. Sutton fought on and grabbed a goal back, Tommy Wright getting goal side of Connolly and tapping the ball in from the cross. Mick Wisdom put in a solid shift in the middle and his breaking up of the play was the difference for Fylde today. All three points going to The coasters.

Metal Micky Wisdom providing the steel again.

Cracking lads. UTFC!

Has he not been sacked yet?
Well he was sacked then went to Bolton *spit but then decided his heart was in Fylde so quit Bolton *spit and returned to Fylde after Joey Barton and Harry Kewell had basically bummed the living daylights out of the club. Bit of an odd journey but we’re rolling with it and everyone’s happy

York City vs AFC Fylde
28th October 2025

=york result.webp

Last season's play-off finalists York City came up against close rivals Fylde at the York Community stadium. In what would many would claim, two of the National League's heavyweights coming together, it was a bad start for Fylde when they found themelves 1-0 down after two minutes through Porsteinsson's rebounded effort after Ndukwu header cannoned off the bar. It seemed York wanted to take the game to Fylde and end their recent unbeaten streak but things swung in Fylde's favour after 19 minutes when Fetahu received his second yellow card one minute after the first for a poor lunging tackle on Henderson, sweeping the legs from underneath the winger. Dimitri Sea found the head of Ndukwu to make it 2-0 to York after 27 minutes. Ndukwu giving Morgan Feeney a terrible time at the back. Fylde struggling to get into the game with their best chance coming two minutes from half-time, Henderson bombing forward and cutting inside hitting a sweet strike that bounced clear off the post. What a time to score that would have been. Ferguson made changes at half time, Mick Wisdom came off for Kian Robinson and played with a front 3. Bret McGavin playing as the sole midfielder. Henderson found second half sub Danny Smith over on the right wing and put in a lovely ball for the winger to blast powerfully into the net, Fylde back in with a fighting chance. Danny Smith came forward with the ball and put it forward for the front line to chase, Henderson got on the end of it but was tackled by the York defender. Minutes left on the clock and Fylde tried to pump the ball forward to salvage a point, Martin Smith picked up the ball for York, they tried to search for the opening but Fylde held their positions, Smith received the ball back from Kirby who the hit it forward quickly to Nduwku who beat Harry Wright with ease with a low shot into the corner. The ten men of York well out in front with not a chance left for Fylde.

AFC Fylde vs Dover
1st November 2025

=dover result.webp

Ferguson's pre-match comments must have hit home with the players after he demanded the players come out and repay the faith of the fans against Dover. Danny Smith got a start and was giving the left back of Dover a torrid time, 20 minutes on the clock, the winger beat him twice and got the cross in for Josh Ferguson, Ferguson took two shots of which both were blocked by the defence and Henderson latched onto the loose ball burying it into the back of the net. A air of relief for Fylde but Ferguson demanding more on the sideline. Mick Wisdom had a free-kick going ever so slightly over the bar signalling the last kick of the first half. Fylde came closest in the second half to get the next goal, Tyrone O'Neill having a header glance over the bar and Euan Henderson almost catching the keeper off guard when he crossed into the box but the keeper saw it going towards the top corner and tipped it over. Henderson's goal the difference in the game today and giving Fylde the victory.

DF: We haven't been good enough for 3 maybe 4 weeks in my opinion and the York resukt aside, we are still winning games. I want performances to improve because we won't stay where we are if they don't and eventually we will slip down the table.

Harry Wright pleased to keep a clean sheet for Fylde but it looks as though Tom Hadler will be returning to training this coming week and could be fit enough to start in next week's game against League One side Crawley Town. It's a big game for Fylde and a tricky away tie.

F.A. Cup First Round
Crawley Town vs AFC Fylde
8th November 2025

=Crawley result.webp

A wintry day in Crawley as they take on Fylde in the FA Cup first round. One player playing against his former side was Crawley's right back Tyler Reid who made a total 53 appearances for Fylde in the National League and League Two. Tyler Reid received a yellow card for his conduct after Josh Ferguson cleanly took the ball from the defender. Crawley sprayed the ball round quickly and created many opportunities, shots reigned on goal but Tom Hadler was superb between the sticks keeping everything out. Tyler Garrett also putting his body on the line literally making a goal bound clearance late in the first half. After a first half bludgeoning from Crawley, both sides went into half time still level. The second half restarted in the same way the first finished with Crawley on the front foot, Tom Hadler restored confidence in the defence as they kept everything out that Crawley had to offer. How they got through this one in one piece was quite impressive and Ferguson applauded his side at the full time whistle. A replay in ten days time at Mill Farm and still an opportunity for The Coasters to progress.

DF: How we got out of that was quite remarkable. They literally came at us with everything they had. What more can they do? We have been on the receiving end of the worst they have to offer, we proved we can deal with it. Now we need our fans on side. A night game at Mill Farm can be a special evening and we need you. We need you all behind us. The fans can spur us on in the replay.
