Go and tour the USS Michael Murphy.

The destroyer was named for Lt Michael Murphy, a SEAL from SDV Team 1 who was killed in Afghanistan and was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor for his deeds that day in 2005 (Operation Red Wing). We had 2 other SEALs killed on that SR mission, and then several more SEALs and Army Spec Ops killed when their QRF helicopters where shot down when they tried to reinforce the SR team.
I knew Murph, he rode several times on the ASDS (the nifty little min-sub I worked on for 3 years) and we were at SDVT-1 together.
NYC residents should take the opportunity to get down and get a tour around a brand new Guided Missile Destroyer before she is commissioned.
