Last chance to have a stab at this absolute cracker of a question.

Can't find my good Everton ones unfortunately, so here's a lame one to set up another one.

Prior to Mane and Salah, who was the last African to score a goal in a Merseyside derby?

Is it a bit of a trick question in that it was actually an own goal?

Correct, as SC says, Joseph Yobo's ridiculous deflection off Mascherano's shot in 2009.

Strangely, despite quite a few having played for both clubs, before Mane and Salah came along there had only been one African scorer of a regular goal in a derby - Berry Nieuwenhuys, a South African who played for Liverpool in the 30s and 40s.
