As well as forcing through proposals to complete the season based purely on financial reasoning and to ensure the title can be awarded the latest (accepted?) proposal is that each team will be allowed to make five substitutions in a game! Firstly, how does this protect the “integrity” of the game (along with neutral venues, no supporters etc.) and secondly, surely this gives even more advantage to the bigger / richer sides on the basis that any five substitutes for Man city (or other currently top teams) for example are likely to be better than what a Sheffield United or Aston Villa have to offer! Aside from the lack of morals in pushing the restart agenda anyway how is this in any way a fair proposal?

I don't think any proposal will have the support of every club, and will likely lead to legal action, whatever about Liverpool winning the league that was done and dusted I'd made my peace with that, neutral Venus won't sit well with relegation threatened teams who would have been relying on home support to dig them out, can't finish the season as it stands imaging getting relegated based on your position in March. Can't void the season not fair on the RS and the likes of Sheffield or Leicester who have had good seasons too. It's really a minefield, the fairest thing could even be to roll a dice, 1 and 2 is a draw 3 and 4 home win and 5 and 6 away win.

You can't change rules of a competition halfway through. Shows what an absolute farce football has become. I honestly hope football (as it is) dies on its arse soon.

This, I still don't understand why they're going to so much hassle, it's an utter joke, the workaround proposals. No fans, changing the rules, using it as an excuse to get rid of VAR. They could have spent this time to make sure everyone was clear when next season can possibly start and doing a total review of why VAR has been such a shambles and how it can be improved

It makes sense from a fatigue reducing sense however it massively favors teams with deeper squads.
From the spectators point of view it's crazy. What you'll get is the normal 2 subs made for genuine tactical reasons, then both sides making 3 changes each in the last 10 minutes, confusing supporters and, for one side at least, just wasting time.

Absolutely cobblers of an idea. It'll probably happen and will make the game even more farcical. Half the team ffs!

Nothing more to be said.

could have a rule were you can use 5 subs but maximum 3 times called

They should just make it like basketball and set it so you can have rolling subs on and off all match. Heck, the way they're going, why not change the rules on how you can score too, may as well introduce cricket bats and multiple balls while we're at it.

It's so so silly, european teams have bigger squads to cope with the demand of when they need to play 3 games a week, with this new proposal, they're not going to play any more frequently than that, so why only have 5 subs a game now and not then?

Exactly - it keeps the bigger European sides at the top. No longer a competition,no longer a sport.

What next? 10 points for a goal to excite the Yanks?
