Came across a very disturbing article an hour ago that made me lose me appetite and want to strangle someone. Our execs are a complete and utter waste of space!!!!!!

2010:Everton F.C signs 3 year sponsorship deal with Chang worth 12 million pounds.

2012: Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates(South African clubs with a smaller worldwide fanbase compared to us) sign 5 year sponsorship deal worth 100 million pounds(50 million pounds for each team)!!!! That equates to 10 million pounds per year for each team goddmit!!! We getting 12 million pounds for 3YEARS ,them south africans are each getting 10 million pounds a YEAR!!! These figures made me want to throw up. Fire the lot of 'em!!! Them incompetent exec's are running this club to the gutter!

It's about the POTENTIAL size of the fanbase and the fact that Vodacom is a much bigger company than Chang is.

I hear you but here's my question: Why the hell didn't our useless board rope in a sponsor with more financial muscle? i.e VodaFone,Sony,Coca Cola etc.

To put it in context Manchester United's sponsorship deal is £40m over 4 years with DHL for their training kit. We do not have the same pull as Manchester United, Vodafone, Sony or Coca-Cola will not be willing to invest £10m per year in Everton.
They also have an £80m 4 year sponsorship deal with Aon for their main kit.

Here's my point though. We have a bigger WORLDWIDE fanbase than both them 2 south african teams combined. We play in the best league in the world, watched by hundred's of millions of people across the world. Why would a Sony,Vodafone,Coca Cola etc turn down the opportunity to put their company logo on a jersey of a club that plays in a league that commands such a large captive audience?

I think they're put off by the bad press brought on the club by Steven Pienaar's drink driving and drunken assaults.

Because Everton doesn't have that sized audience, we only get that when we play against Man Utd, not week in week out. The South African teams have a potential market in the form of the entirety of Sub-Saharan Africa.

Yeah, and Wayne Rooney is an angel isn't he? Stop making excuses for Bill and his rubbish board. They are the reason why we have stagnated. We can't compete in the transfer market because they keep on making rubbish deals with rubbish companies for rubbish money!!!!! I'm slowly losing me patience with them inept muppets.

Why don't you found your own company make billions, then buy Everton then?
A large number of people on here are fed up of this board, myself included, but the example your using isn't one that you can use to beat the board with. Spurs is a better example as they aren't from a completely different continent. Their two year deal is worth £20m just for the league, i.e. they get £10m per year with extra add-ons based on performance. Using the two biggest clubs in Africa and one of the largest companies in Africa is simply an absurd comparison.

But surely if Pienaar wasn't a drunken thug with no sense of the green cross code, then McDonalds would pay us £5m a month to be our sponsors.
