micknick

Player Valuation: £70m
Now call me naiive but the official site normally keep there cards close to their chest. They would rather normally ignore speculation until it is signed sealed delivered.

If Fernandes was not going to sign either on loan or on a permanent i dont think the OS would want his name anywhere near the site. The fact that they put this on the site to me speaks volumes:

I think there is a deal in place and we will see him signed after the under 21's- that is what I predict anyway.

I hope you're right mick. He played very well for the Portugal U21s yesterday. He played in centre midfield and had two cracking shots, he was quite unlucky not to score.

Quite. You would assume that his loan deal has expired now and whilst the club often report on the progress of young players that have been released it would be an odd move to keep tracking Fernandes like that.

Fernandes loan deal finishes on July 1st as that is technically when all contracts end and begin etc. I would love to see him stay but he is still an Everton player for at least another fortnight, so the official site will report on him. I would like to see him stay but i think we'll get priced out of a move i think, it just seems inevitable, that same price tag scared Pompey off.

If we want the club to be moving forward, they must buy players like this. He could be with us for very long, who knows? And he is magnificent, in fact, I think we're lucky to be the ones in line to sign him.

I can understand why some people may feel negative vibes about the possible move for fernandes but, Pompey were scared off by the fact that he had to be bought if played more than 3 consecutive games before he could show what he has to offer, that is why they backed down. The price is not really a major concern for me as we will get him on a season long loan. Stay positive people, Moyes ALWAYS keeps hold of successful loan players he uses. I for one am looking forward to seeing Manny in an Everton shirt next season and I am confident it will happen.

So thats it then the Manny Fernandes Saga seems to have been drawn to a conclusion if quotes attributed to him are to be beleived.

Manuel Fernandes has all but shut the door on a return to Everton.
The Portugal U21 international midfielder remarked after the defeat to Holland this week: "I'm back at Benfica now, it's finished for me in England. I enjoyed it, it was a great experience."
