Female fans getting hassle

Genuinely angry that people still think it's okay to act in this way.

Would encourage any blue who sees this to create a block between the knobheads and who they are targeting. We have daughters and if we don't we definitely have mothers. Think what they would feel in that situation and DO something about it! Don't let the scum of the world win. If you tolerate this and all that...
100%.
Baffles me how any man can sit by and watch that kind of crap happen.
I'd happily take a dig standing up for what is right than know I sat quietly hoping it went away.

There has been more reporting of the vile behaviour, but it’s still so prevalent - especially on trains

I was horrified reading this when it was published

Horrific isn't it.
The thought of my daughters growing up in this world terrifies me some days.

Yes, me too. Thankfully what happened to me wasn’t as awful as this.

Human beings are scum in groups mostly, add ale and drugs to situation and you have a toxic mix. I don't believe societal attitudes have changed, a lot of young men have been raised watching porn, viewing women as objects. Also in groups of men, you usually have 1 ringleader. Anyone with any uunderstanding of history understands 1 extreme leads to another, look at Yugoslavia. A lot of young men simply have no idea how to behave around women, dating apps have destroyed, normal contact between men and women. People are judged solely based on looks, and women are seen as objects rather than a person. In past when people met in bars or clubs, you would get a slap of someone, if you were rude to a woman. The amount of fellas who spend all day perving on women online is ridiculous, personally I think it will only get worse, and public rapes on buses and trains will become normal sadly. How can you have a normal view on women, when you don't properly interact with women.

We're living in really dark times. The election of the orange menace has sent out a signal to the neanderthals that - sadly - make up close to 50% of the male population at any given time. The rest of us are going to have to stand up and be counted now. This is a disgrace.

It seems misogyny and general disrespect to women is on the rise lately unfortunately. One theory is dating apps have led to 18% of 30 year old men being virgins and another stating 30% of 18-30yo. This figure used to be 3%. Frustrations like this and less meaningful interactions with the opposite sex due to greater seclusion with online interaction a poor replacement for real life, has naturally caused a moral decay and loss of basic manners.
It doesn't help when many teenage boys are being heavily guided by the likes of Andrew Tate, and the most influential country in the world just elected a blatant misogynist and civilly liable rapist to the highest office.
A real shame you were treated that way at all, and among fellow Evertonians too highlights how pervasive this disrespect is now
Have a look at the piece of garbage who middle fingered both these posts. You won't be surprised who it was.

I think a portion of "away days" men always act like absolute nobs, they feel like it gives them a feeling they can behave like one of those Danny dyer films.

Social media has probably inflated the behaviour. A lot of people now post a pic of their coach or their drinks on the train to somehow inflate their own ego and in turn increase their bad behaviour.

Have I just been unlucky or have other female fans been getting more hassle before and after games recently?

I’ve been going to the game for many years, with my Dad, husband, friends or on my own, and would previously have said it’s always felt safe, but within the last months I’ve had someone grab the waistband of my jeans in the pub and try to pull them down, then last night a group of fellow Evertonians took over the quiet carriage of the train I was on back from London, intimidated me and a few other women travelling alone, to the extent that I messaged Avanti and they advised me to move elsewhere, and then shouted a few nasty things after me as I left the carriage.
So sorry for what you had to experience, and for any other girls or women who have experienced things like that worse. Unfortunately, the problem seems to be getting or worse. Hopefully these scumbags are caught.

What’s even sadder for me is that there seems to be fewer men who are willing to get involved and stand up to these gobshites and put them back in their places.

I don’t care about being afraid or “its not my problem” sorry, any so called decent people need to react to any wrong doing that we come across or we ain’t decent at all.

Sadly, It really is ALL our problem.

Sorry you've experienced this @Crosby Blue

As others have said, it's a shame they weren't called out on their behaviour but it's understandable why not everyone feels confident to do so, you'd be standing up to a group of neanderthals who are already demonstrating that they have next to no morals.

Good on you for calling them out on it on here too, if anyone who's reading this conducts themselves in that manner reads it hopefully it gives them a perspective on what it's like to be on the receiving end of their abhorrent behaviour.
