Fellaini misses Norwich game

When we moved Fellaini back to midfield the other day (when Neville came off and Vellios went up top with Jelavic) he inspired the comeback.

I don't even think Jelavic is off form, I just think that Jelavic and Fellaini both lack mobility and overlap eachothers jobs. I think you need a player who will do the legwork for Jelavic but won't be the focal point of attacks.

I think Fellaini is far better getting the ball deeper and driving on rather than playing with his back to goal as he is at present. It's wasting his footballing ability.

It'd be interesting to see Naismith played off Jelavic, or even Osman. Somebody who will force us to play to Jelavic's natural movement off the shoulder rather than to the chest of a big guy like Fellaini who is too easily crowded out of the game if that's the only way we're going forward.

I'd go for Hitzlsperger and Osman in midfield, Coleman right wing, Oviedo left, Naismith and Jelavic up top for the Norwich game.

what about pienaar

lol knew I'd forgot someone ffs... I wish he'd grow those dreads back!

Yeah, Pienaar on the left instead of Oviedo. :)

I actually thought you'd dropped him due to poor form lately and gave Ovideo a chance.

Not that it will happen though, Moyes very rarely drops regular players for bad form preferring to let them play through it.

The Guardian had rated Naismith as doubtful for this game, which might be one of the reasons why he was brought off.

With Moyes being so angry with his players maybe he will shake things up to show his disproval?

Norwich are beating United by the way!

I would go for a solid centre back pairing Jags & Distan or Duffy! Jh was P*ss poor yet again how the hell is he selected???????

I think Distin might still have a slight problem following the derby. He played for the U21 in midweek, so he must have some sort of issue.

Nah, I wouldn't drop Pienaar when you're already losing Fellaini. Sure, he's off form, but I'd rather give Pienaar the chance to come good in a position we know he's ace.

I don't know enough about Oviedo to shout for his call up either. It's the same with Tim Howard - he's playing absolutely awful but you'd have to be mad to utter the sentence "Hey, let's give Jan Mucha a game..." ;)

Maybe Moyes will try something like:

____________Howard
_Coleman Jagielka Distin Baines
Pienaar Osman Hitzlsperger Oviedo
_______Naismith
______________Jelavic

(Mucha, Heitinga, Duffy, Vellios, Junior, Kennedy, Gueye)

He quite possibly wants to drop Coleman but we don't have any other options there.

Problem is other teams have cottoned on to him and are sticking men tight to him to keep him out of the game. Leigertwood dominated him today.

He's much better deeper.

Agree. Howards distribution today was awful too. Too many goal kicks pumped up looking for felli or naismith giving them possession back. We dont play it out from the back enough. Our options and football would suite this and we would retain possesion for longer periods when we are under the cosh like today for large periods of the second half.

I think this is our best move right now, keep Coleman in, give him another shot, hes still young and I can see him getting better and more concentrated on defense as the season progresses. Since Felli is out anyway we should give Hitzlsperger a chance to send a screamer from outside the box and Jelavic and Naismith play off each other like they did for Rangers. Although I'm shaky about not having our big man in the middle it does force Moyes to try something else.
