even when he says something he doesn't actually say anything he is almost politician like in his meaningless engagements with the media
Yes, because he has nothing to say yet!
The only reason he made any comment today is because there's a huge amount of pressure for the club to say something - but there is nothing to say yet.
For all we know, the Silva deal is done and we're waiting on Watford to finalise a replacement. While this might not be the case, the speculation is pointless - what's gonna happen is gonna happen.
It's frustrating because our club is a 'laughing stock' at the minute but this is something that's been driven by the media.
Dyche has unequivocally said he has not received any contact from Everton yet how many hundreds of articles have been generated about him and Everton. And how many responding articles have their been about the 'type of manager' we're looking at.
LVG rejected us - that generated lots of media coverage.... yet in his comments he also said he was never approached.
Allardyce seems to have been approached about potentially taking over for half a season and he wanted a longer contract. His comments in the media about Everton dithering are calculated to put pressure on the club to bite the bullet and hire him as the permanent manager which the club obviously has no intention of doing (or it would already be done)
The only manager that we know we've made an approach for is Marco Silva.... everything else seems to just be pap to generate nonsensical articles, that then generate response and opinion articles... and the shear amount of coverage makes us look like this inept bunch of eejits that don't know what they're doing.
We want a board and owner that would act like professionals, be ruthless and bring back the glory days... but then we demand transparency and full knowledge of potential deals before they are completed. When we hear nothing coming out of the club we assume they're doing nothing as opposed to assuming their carrying out business in the standard way that businesses operate.
Personally - and i don't think this is limited to just football - I think most of the world has just lost touch with reality. Between Twitter and all the sportsblog sites sponsored by bookmakers (and the other sports sites run by bookmakers) - i think most people have been driven a bit mad - the vast majority of pap published about sport isn't true. That old saying "there's no smoke without fire" doesn't apply anymore - people just make [Poor language removed] up, say it's sourced and that's that.
