Thing is Dave, with a striker ‘injury crisis’ we should still be picking up points, as the big thing about the team Benitez inherited was the solid defence. We should therefore, in view of Benitez’ sit deep and hoof it up for Gray, Richarlison or Townsend have still been grinding out draws and the occasional win. Instead our defence is an absolute shambles and I tremble with fear each time we give away a corner. We offer very little up front even with Gray and Richarlison, due to the master tactician’s insistence on playing Rondon, who just cannot keep up with the play.
Also wrecked by injury in the last 2 months.

Mina missed nearly half our matches last season, and wasn't even selected by Ancelotti all the time when fit

Digne broke his ankle last year too. Only missed 1 game this year. Don't forget Holgate also missed the first 3 months last year after getting injured in the final pre season game against Preston. Coleman was in and out of the side with injury all season.

In the last 2 months we've had more injury days off for players than the whole of last season.

You're comparing apples and pears.

If / when he gets shut of Benitez in the next few weeks half of you late guests to the anti-Moshiri dinner will be calling him The Mosh again....and you KNOW it.

The only problem is the rumours about DCL. I had made peace with selling Richarlison but do not agree with selling DCL. If we sell him we won't find anyone nearly as good. Even if we get £60m, you don't get a top centre forward for that anymore.

Brands should not be allowed to be part of recruitment going forward either. Why would you let someone who spent money poorly, spend more money. Benitez shouldn't be involved either. We need young players with upside not this obsession with PL experience.

DCL and Richarlison are going within the next couple of years whether we like it or not, we just have to hope the reinvestment is better than when Lukaku went. Obviously would love to keep DCL but we aren't going to be where he needs us to be coming into his most valuable period and if a big club comes in for him there is no point having a Kane situation here.

The only problem with your second sentence is if we don't allow Benitez or Brands to buy the players then we are left with Moshiri, Kenwright and Unsworth doing it!

We need a new manager and DOF. We need them as soon as possible.

Someone posted yesterday that it wasn’t so long ago we won at The Pit without both Mina and DCL.

No guarantees they come in and do things right. Actually taking into account historical information it's likely to take us further away from where we need to be.

What I will say is changing for the sake of changing is a root cause why we are in a mess. Only if there are people available who have a plan and will create a stable long-term upturn we should act. Perhaps we missed the boat with Rangnick...
