OK, it does seem to be coming from the Esk, albeit with caveats:

"A renewed deal with Umbro (shirt manufacturer, “technical partners”) length and value unspecified but reliably reported at around £9 million a year."

What did he do to blot his reputation?

It would be sound if he can bring in a Jose Mourinho and secure increased involvement from Alisher Usmanov, we then will compete. Bit fanciful like, I know...

Until we get a top manager in, we're pissing in the wind. To be fair, he's apparently tried for elite managers (Simeone, Emery) but been laughed at and resorted to flavours of the month in Koeman, Walsh an Silva (at first). It is what it is

Should be all out for mourinho - proven winner and real statement.

Opportunity with him is now before ends up at another top club.

Get him and we’d probably end up with a cup. Plus he hates the reds.

Mourinho guarantees trophies. Legend of the game. I'd absolutely love him, can't understand the logic of those who say he's not right for us.

He would inevitably want assurances of transfer budgets and ambitions, which (in my mind) means that if he did come, it would really back up the rhetoric FM and co have been putting out there for the last couple of years.

He never had a reputation. He spoke about club accounts and things that people know little about/aren’t interested in like he was some sort of oracle on the subject, claimed he worked for a business who owned a business who did a job for a business that Morhiri owned and then took transfers that looked liked they were happening in the media and chanced on them by saying the deal was done. All to become some weird Everton “celebrity” who had people eating utter drivel out of his social media hand.

10 years ago we were a better team than Spurs, within that time period, we've also outspent them.

Just shows the importance of having the right people involved at a club.

They've got a ruthless businessman in Daniel Levy as chairman, we've got the blundering fool that is Bill Kenwright still in-situ.

This summer should see a clear out of the board, with industry experts brought in.

Not far behind Spurs when this fraud came in to now absolutely miles behind.

We’d had 2 consecutive 11th place finishes before Moshiri took over, and since then we’ve finished 7th, 8th and probably thereabouts again this year.

Not saying Moshiri has been a success by any means, but when you consider Spurs were top 4 regulars and playing Champs league footie when Moshiri took over, it’s a little strange to argue we weren’t far behind them.

Yep, it’s all right saying we have money but it’s the people spending it is what matters. Said it before, I’m not impressed with what’s gone on before and after his arrival. A lot of talk but when it comes down to it, we just exist.

Also pretty tired of the buzz word rubbish that gets spouted, “project” “Rome wasn’t built in a day” and hollow stuff like that. Think about it mate, if it was that lot across the park going through the things we are and have done over the last decade or so, our fan base would be ripping them constantly.
