I'm not - it was. I've seen "bad" players perform as expected, the Gemmill's, Nyarko's and Thomsen's of this world, but the dropoff in quality from Ross today was so massive that it was pound for pound the worst I've ever seen from an Everton player off the bench.

That's not what you said though Tubey.

HAHAHAHAHAHHA

I know you have, I just think it's a massive kick in the balls given you have.

I don't blindly back players with no logic behind it - if a player has a stinker then that's that. Mirallas was dreadful today too, but he's a player I rate fairly highly.

Bit worried about Barkley's mental frailty as he looked to completely disintegrate especially after Pienaar had a pop at him about his movement. Needs to toughen up and take the expectations on his shoulders better as the ability is undoubtedly there.

Is a bit different to:

Haven't seen as bad a cameo performance from an Everton player. He was so bad it was actually incredible to watch.

And I'm his biggest fan FFS!

It's just expanded upon but it's the same basic point. I haven't seen as bad a cameo performance from an Everton player who was brought on to do a specific job - and then failed to do it utterly. It was Ali Daei-esque. He did one thing of note - a turn in the middle when three players were around him and laid it off, and then spent the next 20 minutes making Jordan Henderson look world class in comparison!

I said literally the exact same thing to my brother the second I saw his head go down after pienaar had a go at him for not making the right run. His mental frailties need sorting big time. I don't want to sound harsh but I actually am quite concerned about his level of intelligence as well. He just seems very slow to make decisions on the ball. Sometimes it's as if his brain just switches off altogether. And ffs he needs to start shooting with his right foot. He turns onto his left every time he gets anywhere near the bloody box. Sure he tried it again there yesterday against JT but just fell over himself calamitously.

I really want him to be unreal because he clearly has the physical and technical ability to be so, he just needs to toughen up and smarten up. I don't want to make comparisons BUT if there's one thing Rooney certainly wasn't it's mentally soft. That's what Barkley needs to get over to get up there with the likes of Wayne. I really hope he does as well because the potential quality is mind blowing.
