Fans leaving early

Everyone entitled to their own opinion, I think when I leave early I think I've missed 3 goals in about 9 years.

Beto against Fulham, then the 2 Newcastle goals the other year.

Think for me, leaving 30 seconds early saves me 45 mins.

The bullens and Park End started to show some gaps of blue there, and perhaps i get it for a Brenford or Fulham, but the last derby at Goodison early? Couldn't do it.

Missed the train, ran home, dying today. Things you do for the Blues.

My seat is towards the back of Park End 7 (next to away end), and in the 95th minute I'd say that almost half of the block had left. Most people had at least walked down the steps towards the front ready to make a sharp exit, leaving me and my mate with about only 15 people or so left around us.

Was stood there listening to the away end chanting "we won the league at Goodison Park" and "you lost the last derby at Goodison Park", thinking to myself, "this is easily one of the worst days of football in my life", and feeling sick knowing full well that we'd never hear the end of it, and it'd be another stick for them to beat us with. Every bone in my body wanted to leave but I just couldn't bring myself to do it.

But when that volley went in, I swear to God it was the most I've ever celebrated a goal in my life. The shear explosion of relief more than anything was unreal, knowing that we'd actually prevented all of that. It may have 'only' been an equaliser, and call me mental if you want, but I rank it above the Palace winner. The fact that there was only a small pocket of us left in our area made it even better and more personal. A small group of random strangers all hugging and kissing each other (some with tongues), and I genuinely almost passed out once I'd calmed down as I felt so light-headed.

I absolutely hate VAR, and that 3 minute wait was the longest of my life, but when it was finally given, it was like we'd scored again.

In an instant it turned from one of the worse to one of the best nights ever. An unreal way to end the last ever Goodison derby.

Lee im actually smiling reading this!!!

This is exactly why we love the sport and the club itself, these moments are what makes it all worth it.

I would just like to ask, why even go the game if you are going to leave 80 minutes........ ? you have missed a very special memory of Goodison at its brilliant best in those last moments. it's exactly why we go the game, for the finish at the end, the team needed your support, so whilst you may have got the extra few minutes to get back to your car you have missed a very special moment in Goodison history.

Can't understand it 😕
Telling other people what to do with there own spare time.............. i dont understand it

Me and the kids stayed and it probably will be their abiding memory of our fantastic stadium.
The people in front of us left in stoppage time but they do it most matches.

I’ve walked out before - Ait Nouri scoring for Wolves under Lampard sticks out.

Years ago I missed two late goals against Bolton or someone while trying to get tickets from the Park End box office.
We missed Rooney’s first goal on his return because my lad needed a wazz before half time.

It’s just one of them things. Don’t try and understand it, don’t try and justify it by your standards.
You were there, they weren’t, and they’ll have to deal with it.
