Homepage Article Fan Advisory Board Statement On Price Rises

Whatever way it's spun mate, there's been most games this season you can cherry pick 2-4 tickets in any stand you like.

That didn't happen the past decade at Goodison. I've had empty seats I couldnt get rid off this season, never happened at Goodison.

It makes me think the whole "there's 1.6 million people waiting for a season ticket' is a bit of a bum steer.
I agree with you saying about empty seats and goodison, what do you mean bum steer are you saying there is a list but no one new is getting another season ticket?

I mean when people so readily dismiss concerns of season ticket holders with "well, there's plenty more where you come from"

People on a list, who say they'd like a season ticket - particularly from 5+ years back, signed up for an entirely different product than the one they'd get today.

The novelty of getting to Goodison before it's gone, has gone. The novelty of a new stadium and being the first, also gone. The reality of infrastructure issues. People realising that actually, you can cherry pick almost any game you like - you don't need a season ticket for access now. The cost too, has rocketed.

I don't doubt if 10k season tickets dropped tomorrow, they'd be picked up. But in 2, 3 years? I'm less confident that trend would continue.

Maybe it's just I don't like season ticket holders who have been there for ages being so easily and readily dismissed - clubs who treat fans as easily replaced deserve it to come back and bite them on the arse.

I'm not sure it'll be as safe in the future.

I see empty seats at Man City, Spurs, West Ham etc - I see empty seats at Everton too, a debut season at a new stadium.

I think this time in 5, there will be less season ticket demand than there has been.
They probably have it all modelled up the wazoo, but with the economy looking ever more shaky, I would guess there will be empty seats for a good while

Do you think you will renew, or, are you still thinking about it (if you don't mind me asking).

Nottingham Forest is another that comes to mind.

Europe knockout game, first time since 19 dickety-two and this was their tickets - more empty seats than seats old in the days prior until they did kids for a fiver and adults for £15;

Europa League knockout game...

The warning lights are blinking in top flight football.

I was a definite no as my seat had been empty for a few games that I couldnt give away with the amount of midweek night games - but Everton announced this week they're going to start letting people in club view list their tickets on the clubs resale platform, so at least now if I can't go, or find anyone with a membership, I can list it and have a clear conscience.

People who are cherrypicking games is fine but they can't moan about prices. Season tickets at Everton will continue to be bought as long as the club puts them up for sale for as long as Everton are there. I think it's a bit dreamy for you to think that we are not treated as numbers it's the same in any walk of life or business you know that mate. At the end of the day it's a life style choice.

It is, and that choice is exactly that. But the crux of it for me is;

Most empty seats this season have been season tickets holders not going, my grandson is waiting but has bought on resale and not missed a game as yet. It maybe a bit short sight but who's to say how long they will be here they could sell us tomorrow at a huge profit.

I'm already regretting renewing to be honest. They're taking us for mugs. Monday nights in mid-winter, boring football, getting knocked out of the cups after fielding a weakened team, what am I paying for? It's not Goodison is it, just a big corporate stadium owned by Yanks who never even go to the match.

I'm just not sure what Everton means any more. Certainly not the People's Club.

I never cared for the people’s club tag. It will be interesting to see how the club handles any criticism it gets over this.

I could be wrong but I would take a guess if the club was competing at the highest levels domestic and Europe for trophies i think fans would be more inclined to pay those kind of prices.

(second simpsons reference today - I am pleased)

On topic, weren't our season tickets previously some of the lowest/fairest priced in the league? What happened to 'twenty's plenty'?

There's been a few tickets on here this season where people have struggled to give them away for free
