Big Dunc - only briefly to get an autograph, but my 14 year old self was absolutely made up. Couldn't have been a nicer bloke and my Dad took a cracking pic which is still pride of place in my bedroom now.
Paul Weller - one of my absolute heroes. Won a place on a Q&A session that XFM radio were doing on the day 'Wake Up The Nation' was released. Was allowed to take a plus one so I took my Uncle who's a huge fan and the one who got me into Paul's music in the first place so that was cool. I am definitely his favourite nephew now
anyway there were about 8 or 9 of us who were asking questions and I was absolutely bricking it. Never been so nervous in my life but it was amazing. Looking up from my cue card thing and having Paul Weller look me in the eye and answer blew my tiny mind. He hung around after for autographs and pics as well and was a top, top bloke. Had time for everyone and I got my copy of the new album signed, amazing day!
Liam Gallagher - don't start, he's lovely! Big fan of Oasis and Beady Eye and have invested far too much money into Pretty Green his clothing line! Anyway it paid off as they did a VIP launch party when the Covent Garden store opened last year and I won one of 10 pairs of tickets. It was the most surreal but brilliant night of my life. Felt like proper celebrities! Dave Kitson was there bizarrely so we met him, along with Dan Walker from BBC Sport and more excitingly for me Andy Lewis (Weller's bass player) so I had a nice chat with him. Anyway a bit later after I'd got a wee bit drunk on the free champagne the main man rocked up flanked by Nicole Appleton (phwoar) and some security bloke. He did a bit of a walk round preceded by said security guard who I asked if it would be ok if me and my mate got a quick photo with Liam. He said no and essentially pushed me away. Git. Anyway I was having none of that so when Liam came by I put my arm round him and asked him instead. He said 'of course mate' so we got a photo, autograph and that was that! Pretty brief meeting but he came across really well. As he's a hero of mine I was a bit nervous that he'd be a nobber as many would have you believe but to his fans he's a gent and I love him!
Ian Brown - another comp thing, this time got to listen to his latest solo album, 'My Way' a month before release in the studio it was recorded before Ian turned up for photos etc. He was insanely nice and I talked to him for the longest of any of the others I've met. Again he had time for everyone and even stood at the door and thanked everyone for coming as we left which was a really nice touch!
