FA CUP DRAW ROUND 4

What an absolute kick in the nuts.

Peterborough home
Bournemouth home
Wolves home

To get to the QF with the rs, Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal all knocked out and a flaky City and Utd left with the horse punchers and an inconsistent Villa standing in our way.

And we fell at the 2nd hurdle like the absolute donkey we are.

Another year and we're nowhere near again. Our last 4 cup defeats have been to Fulham, Luton, Southampton and Bournemouth with each game being at home. It's been 30 years and it still feels like we're further away than ever before in our history from winning something again.

Every year that goes by we are another year closer to our next trophy. Newcastle have waited for a major trophy since 1955, so we`re not the worst.

It's crap mate isn't it. Like you said, look at the level of opponents we've been beaten by, but then remember, in the grand scheme of things we're crap ourselves. I bet not one of those teams sets of fans were thinking "crap, we've got Everton away so we've got not chance".

Been a shambles of a club for decades. Let's hope Moyes sees us through this season with some memorable home performances for all the right reasons because the fans deserve that, the history of the club deserves that.

Then reset and we start this club again in the summer hopefully for the better.

The last 30 odd years has been nothing short of a disgrace due to certain people nearly killing this club.

Just gutted that there's not one more last effort for a trophy whilst we are at Goodison 😞

Could be worse, could lose to Plymouth Argyle at the 2nd hurdle.

The Football Association have announced that semi-automated offside technology will be used for the first time in England during the fifth round of the FA Cup in March.

The technology, which is used in the Champions League, will be utilised in seven of the eight FA Cup matches.

The Premier League, which had hoped to introduce the technology in 2024, will look to implement semi-automated offsides 'later this season'.

I`m not the least bit arsed about FA Cup weekends when Everton are not involved, anyone else like that? That has been a too regular occurrence for a club like Everton.

When you look at it this club has massively underachieved in the cup competitions when you see teams that have won it or got to finals.

Since the PL started (33 seasons ago) we have won it once and been to the final 1 further time, we have been knocked out at the Third round stage in a third of them seasons (11) to teams like Wimbledon, Bolton, Newcastle, Shrewsbury, Blackburn, Oldham, West Ham, Leicester, Liverpool twice and Man Utd.

Exits
3rd round - 11
4th round - 7
6th round - 2
Sixth round - 2
Q/F - 5
S/F - 2
Finals - 2

Hopefully Moyes can turn this around going forward and keep our interest in this competition going longer than it has for the last 30 years, maybe deliver the cup at some stage....

Just looking back over the results in his first spell, and we didn`t half get knocked out by some poor teams. That Reading defeat was awful, knock Chelsea out on penalties at the bridge, come back to Goodison against an average championship Reading team, and I think we failed to get a shot on target.

another home draw for bournemouth

big opportunity missed, not just to progress but to have had two more cup ties at goodison

When you look at the teams left in it, take out City and any of the teams left will end a long wait for a major trophy, and get themselves European football. Why did it take till the second half to start playing v Bournemouth?

I get the frustrations from it has been a missed chance this season, not saying should have been an easy run. But with dyche being so negative the start of the season has cost us fans and the team to enjoy this last season at goodison. I would have taken what we have now with us going on that run of winning games over a cup run this season. But hooefully in the future is something we can push forward in. This fanbase deserves at trophy after all we have went through
